A philosophy paper with a table? Pal, we're not even sure kitchens have tables.
Vibe coding should have vibe pricing
Congratulations!!! ๐
It's not a symptom, it's a lifestyle
Nah, that's rare!
God damn it I just love philosophy so much
They said the system worked well, most students used the freedom to do way more than they had to, very few chose to just skate through.
This was for specialised masters degrees, so not really doing much for job chances outside of very specific areas, where the content would also matter.
Fondly remembering a philosophy induction where the program director openly admitted that their system was designed to offer many freedoms, but could be abused to get a degree with little effort. "But why would you do that? Having this degree won't get you anywhere, the content is the entire point"
I haven't encountered this too much (that I can tell!) but it's also more than zero, and I have a similar reaction to Rose here. As she says... it's just very bizarre to do a philosophy degree if you don't actually want to think and work through ideas. What... what are you doing here?
I can't think of any book where I'd care that much today, but I remember being very annoyed as a kid when the Eragon movie was so bad that it killed any chance of even adapting the sequels
It's disappointing when it's unlikely that another, better adaptation will ever be made. The current wuthering heights movie is not the first nor the last, but for anything more niche, it's unlikely that there will ever be a better adaptation once a bad one has been made
In this classist dynamic, the very concept of classism is perverted into an accusation between members of the elite telling each other they aren't taking the concerns of the masses seriously enough if they don't make the most bigoted policy possible.
Isn't situationship mostly used for a dynamic that people get stuck in without actively choosing it? The lack of action actually seems pretty fitting for that

Anyone who has a passion going fast on ice while touching their friend a lot shouldn't sleep on luge doubles, which goes harder in both regards
This sounds like the music to a fun video game, immediately puts me in a good mood!
Can't wait to give it a listen!
Oh no I got that, my response was meant to affirm your point, sorry if it seemed antagonistic!
(and yes, I should probably quit rage scrolling X)
Not going to waste my breath naming the obvious greats among women philosophers only for bad faith dudebros to question if these are "even among the top 1000 philosophers"
Quote tweet (do you still call them tweets? It's on X, idk). Quoted tweet (Andrew Torba) says "Anthropic has a divorced female "philosopher" crafting its ethical framework and AI model identity. Elon has like 6 autistic white guys in..." (tweet cuts off) Quoting tweet (Vittorio) says "This made me realize that I have never heard of any female philosopher like, not one" Reply from Elon Musk to quote tweet: thinking/curious emoji ๐ค Both have several thousand likes
In case you're wondering about the current state of philosophy discourse on The Other Site
Currently in the "all my liquid intake is caffeinated" stage of writing
