I donβt know what to post about anymore.
Am I supposed to just ramble about my health anxiety or what?

Glad people are still enjoying my art.
Happy I didnβt hold my breath.
Keep smoking the copium buddy maybe one day.
It just isnβt a joking matter.
Yeah, not breathing can be fatal.
Itβs not a joke. Itβs real.
Iβm waiting, but Iβm not going to hold my breath, otherwise I might die.
Whether or not you want to admit that is up to you, but I donβt really feel like arguing about it so Iβm going to stop responding after this.
You say trust, but keep in mind Iβve touched and used many a headset given that my primary occupation is VR Dev, so, trust. I know what Iβm talking about.
VR in general is a sensitive thing.
Light house tracking completely dies in the presence of anything reflective.
Even with non reflective play spaces, my index controllers randomly decide theyβre a meter off and have to be covered and uncovered to reset.
These are global issues with VR.
Iβm not denying that it can have issues occasionally, but a lot of the time issues you hear about often are also a vocal minority.
Thatβs the nature of it - people are far more likely to complain if something is wrong than to comment if something is working smoothly.
I donβt know if it ever got fixed. I pointed it out while I worked there, and even made a small patch for it because it bothered me so much, but I donβt think that ever got accepted as a solution and merged to anything other than my branch. π€·ββοΈ
Itβs also worth noting that VRC specifically has issues with Quest controllers where the motion filtering for determining if a controller is βoffβ is way too aggressive so it looks like your controllers are turning off or losing tracking if you sit too still.
This was or is a VRC issue though.
I get offset tracking rarely, but I also get that with index controllers using lighthouses, frequently even.
No tracking solution is going to be perfect unfortunately.
Aside from specifically VRChat issues that I think have yet to be addressed, I donβt have any tracking problems with the quest pro controllers unless Iβve left them sitting on the desk for too long while working on something and then pick them back up. Sometimes it takes a second to reorient.
They did not when I was using them.
My biggest complaint was the setup and the fact that they didnβt have any way for me to be not in my room if thatβs where I set them up.
Granted, itβs been a few months, things mightβve changed. Iβm not sure.
They last 6-7 hours generally unless youβre up dancing around like crazy at least in my experience.
It wasnβt enough of a time loss for me to be bothered by it.
The ready time is the same other than a one time setup unless you change the location of your play space significantly.
The battery life is also roughly the same.
Thatβs okay, Valve can make a bad headset.
Someone will eventually make a not bad one. Iβm tired of sipping the valve hmd copium anywaysβ¦
WMR was dead on arrival and nobody should have bought into it.
SteamVR barely even supported it, to the point that supporting its input schema was nearly impossible for app developers
The setup requires doing a silly up down scan of your room from 4 directions while standing and then another 4 directions while sitting in the same spot.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to do, and is quite annoying.
If they tracked and realtime mapped like the QPro, theyβd be basically perfect.
After I was fired? Havenβt been online.
Before that? Often enough to know they work well enough. The only issue was the setup process which I think still sucks, but itβs a one time thing so meh.
When I use full body yes
Err, maybe it was vive ultimate not ultra
