A lot of things suck right now so here's my dog.
Two stills from PRINCESS MONONOKE. Osa the leper on his deathbed in Irontown, telling Ashitaka and the Lady Eboshi "Life is suffering. It is hard. The world is cursed. But still, you find reasons to keep living."
strong contender for the greatest line in fantasy film
Sick me too actually. We're probably distant relatives.
Wild how the other site is just chock full of Nazis now. It's like a Stormfront Call of Duty server over there.
This is an incredible, refreshing interview that everyone should read.
I'm choosing to think about positive Muppet times rn. Like when Frank Oz would do talk shows and sort of disappear while the host talked to Cookie Monster.
They're around but I don't know how often they're getting to B market or the sadly live music deprived C markets.
Inversely I prefer Ringo's earlier, serious work to his later, more silly stuff.
Some of us had the good sense to secretly sleep with Rob Delaney and not blab or get a big head about it.
Turned out to be a savvy business model to just keep making the classic ham and cheese sandwich while the other guy buys the biggest deli and starts replacing all the bread with dead rats.

Here's a reply I like for inlaws and relatives who are just repeating talking points I know they picked up from Fox or the radio...
As patronizingly as possible (as though talking to your dim nephew rather than your dim uncle): "Where did you hear that? Did an older boy tell you that?"
Two dogs on a couch. A Chihuahua mix looking one way and the other dog, a Corgi is looking the other way.
Apparently need a third dog so I can unlock a Cerberus set bonus.

That's really good. I've always liked pacifist zombies in a world that's very much not inoculated from the concept of zombies. We're going to war and setting up zombie burger franchises before even considering things like rights or autonomy.
Please just starve the Nazis who've come here of attention by blocking them immediately. Don't give them the quote-dunk engagement they crave because it proves they've gotten to you.
The wings are a nice touch. Looking forward to cracking it open.
If the same progressive consultants made the same mistakes twice (very nearly three times) and kept getting hired to run campaigns we'd never hear the end of it.
Good one tonight
Almost 2025 and grown men are getting upset about "posers." Incredible.
....things of that nature.

Hey Bluesky peeps who just found me. Iβm a filmmaker + film lover since I could stare at a screen. Worked as an editor for over 15 years before making a sci-fi thriller/horror/puzzler called Things Will Be Different with a bunch of friends. Check it out π°οΈ

I've got a fever and the only cure is more Cool World
Another good-ass review for @thorazos.bsky.social's forthcoming World Within the World in the NYT! (gift link)
Montanan writing weird and horrible short fic because I want what I find scary to scare other people too (The Batman Principle).
Working on a debut novel (which becomes more unwieldy by the minute) about cults and cryptids that is really about the twilight of America.

Basically all you will ever need to know about the United States.
Sometimes hope is just perspective. Is the end of Pet Sematary hopeful. Not really? Sort of? It's doomed but there's a stubborn sliver of "hey, maybe this time..." That's what I try to chase in bleaker stories. If the reader knows better the character doesn't have to (and vice versa).
