I had to help some kids in taekwondo for their belt grading. Nice kids but it was a bad news bears disaster. Honestly most of them probably shouldn’t be grading yet. 😬

I have to sit through two afternoon seminars related to productivity. I have been aroud people all week and will feel more productive by having lunch in silence by myself.

Got a body scan today. My body fat is down to about 16% and I’ve gained about 10 pounds of muscle in the last year. Not bad for a woman at 49. At least my midlife crisis has been a healthy one.

Whatever opportunity you get to make money as a creative, I sort of feel like I need to take it and store it away. But not ideal for work and life balance sometimes 😓

Being in the creative industry you have so many reasons to always feel like you’re looking over your shoulder, especially the older you get. This week I whined and complained to myself about how much extra freelance I’ve had to do but I sort of feel like I need to have that squirrel mentality 🐿️

I did editorial illustration for the WaPo a few times and designers getting laid off always creeps me out no matter what. Fortunately most of the ones I worked with moved to other areas of publishing.
