I've heard similar claims in the past. Having done a couple of interim gigs coming in after a perm CISO I have to wonder how effectively those hours are being spent by some of my peer group....
Biggest thing I would go with is "don't do this for the money...because by the time you enter the market it's going to be earning like many other IT roles"... One hopes they enter because they find it interesting.

On more than one occasion I have invited Bob's at my table to please join other tables because I'm done with their particular brand of nonsense. If you are so unhappy with the campaign I am spending hours upon hours building please go somewhere else...for both our sakes.
I assume a media or public interest group would have standing to appeal this...or do I misunderstand?
Maybe I'm weird but I couldn't make it through reading book 1. The writing style grated on my and the way he treats the reader through is treatment of characters really bothered me. Haven't watched any of the series, etc. since I don't really care about it.

In my experience way too many hospitals, even if they truly understand the risk, lack the resources to be as effective in cyber as people assume they should be...especially in rural and inner urban hospitals.

I've stopped following folks I used to enjoy because of this... Life is short and I want to find happiness what bits of it I can.
I think there's a non-zero number of folks who get pissed about this realization because they don't like the "why I like this game" when they realize it's about killing and or avarice. They forget it's a Game and not Real Life which is why folks like me play them.

The whole point of a TTRPG is to be out on the edge and explore stuff the Player would/could never do.
Fortunately my current players trust me and we have exciting adventures that everyone enjoys.
