If you have not read Persepolis you should, it is an extremely powerful graphic novel thats available for free on the Internet Archive: archive.org/details/pers... Though I would also highly reccomend supporting Marjane directly and purchasing it as well.

Eloise Bridgerton should be canonically asexual The second part of Benedict's story drops tomorrow, but there's a different Bridgerton sibling I'm rooting for.

I'd love to see Eloise come out as aspec in her own series, where the right amount of time and care can be given to the story. But I would be nervous about it too, considering Netflix's track record.

This isn't as in-depth as it could be, but I haven't posted in months and wanted to get this out.

As much as we’d all love to spend long weekends in beautiful, writerly seclusion, it’s not accessible to so many people. Everyone should have time, space and support to create. But lives are messy and complicated and challenging and we’re all working 53 hours a day just to survive.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 65:
Sometimes a simple word has more impact than an unusual one. Unusual words are great when you want to attract attention (to a sound, a texture, etc), but they also slow things down. Do you want your readers to stop and think? Or do you want them to move on?

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

Care is an act of resistance. Engage as much as you can in direct forms of resistance now. But don’t discount the value and necessity of care.

The actions you take to provide care for your community are necessary for survival. Don’t think you’re “doing nothing” when providing care to people.

Brianna Ghey was targeted by classmates who knew her offline. Online, she made friends and a community, and was making content to help other trans kids like her.

This is a grieving mother pushing for legislation that would have further isolated her trans child, that is supported by transphobes.

But you're right, if she had the language and confidence to say 'no, that's not what we agreed to' (having had that conversation at the start), it could have changed some things. There's definitely room for a better version of events in there.

Yeah, that's fair. I'm picturing him saying he 'doesn't believe' in being aromantic and then feeling like her choices at the end prove him right, rather than him (or, potentially, the audience) coming to understand the greyromantic (or however Summer may identify) experience. Pessimistic, perhaps.
