The PROBLEM is most of y’all aren’t fun and I don’t wanna deal with the backlash of talking about my problematic gender.

I am so tempted to figure out a term for whiteness that isn’t white.

It distracts from the system & folks go “oh but the Italians weren’t always white. Or xyz is conditionally white and that can be taken away.” All are true & all obfuscate intentional systemic choices & invisible consequences.

But additionally for marketability you can only be one (maybe two) things. For may POC they are fighting to be seen as human. Fighting for their career, or interest. With white people that’s established - so they can be that other thing.

(Also gayness has value over a non identity.)

The tiniest theory is capital & proximity to visibility, and the need to be “one thing” for marketing purposes.

The gayborhoods are all in urban cores where white men with wealth who had been estranged from their communities displaced POC & inherited (but are dismantling) civil rights wins.

There is something complex that I can’t figure out what feeds the other.

Queerness is seen as a white thing.

Think of a blue haired liberal, a polycule, a gay guy on vacation, a lesbian sharing custody with her ex. It’s all white people.

But the culture & numbers are POC.
