Sad news coming in from France: 1997 entrant Fanny has passed away at the far-too-young age of 46 after a battle with cancer. One of the most underrated French entrants in an era where France almost exclusively sent bangers. RIP.

2026 is not going to be a fun Eurovision year. I don't even know if I'm going to watch the final live, as it stands. But damn if the two songs we've got so far aren't rekindling that fire in me a little. The spirit of Eurovision doesn't die so easily.
It's funny - now that the full votes are out, you can see Armenia finished near the bottom for two jurors and mid-table for another...then two jurors put them fourth. This is a reminder that each JESC jury features two children among the jurors. I feel like I know the two here.
The best result San Marino's ever received in a Eurovision competition. Highest public vote ever achieved by a Sammarinese entry. It wasn't Serhat, Valentina, Senhit, or Gabry Ponte that did it.
Martina CRV, you've made some damn history.

AZERBAIJAN VOTED FOR ARMENIA THE SKY IS FALLING
My JESC votes were for San Marino (best song, and also, duh), Ireland (good song, and I want to give them kudos for boycotting the adult contest), and North Macedonia (cuz damn it, I miss them at the adult contest).
You know, I always wondered what the deal was with Chappell Roan's pig nose on the "Good Luck, Babe!" cover art but, you know, canonically Miss Piggy is also a Midwest Princess
@shadowtodd.bsky.social don't know if you saw, but Richard Derbyshire of Living in a Box died.
The No. 1 Country Song in America is AI-Generated
I've been seeing this headline floating around. To be clear:
1) This is "No. 1" on a miniscule chart, The "Country Digital Song Sales" chart, as in people actually paying money to download country songs which is a tiny amount of people
2) The actual consumers are almost certainly fake

And now, a Champions League-type thing of just clubs from cities that have hosted Eurovision. I tried to include multiple clubs from the same city if it hosted more than once.

Y'all...the ENTIRE 2019 final is available to watch worldwide.
You know what that means, right?
I CAN WATCH "SAY NA NA NA" WHENEVER I WANT!

I keep randomly discovering post-2015 performances that aren't geo-blocked for whatever reason. "Discoteque," "Tick-Tock," "Viszlรกt nyรกr," now "I Can't Go On." And there might be more! Stay ever-vigilant, fellow non-Europeans!

See, the trouble with Slovenia being the one to try and stand up against Israel participating is that they are tiny and not particularly successful, so their threatening to walk doesn't carry much clout. Now, if a GROUP of broadcasters threatened to walk, like in 2022, then maybe we'd have something
(OK, apparently they subsequently said no, not yet, still figuring shit out but THIS IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME STOP THE CAP)
For comparison, here's the last time every country received 12 overall, from either a televote or jury, in either a SF or a final:

I was in a math class with Julia Garner. She showed a trailer for Martha Marcy May Marlene to the class. Even back then, I was like, "Imagine if she winds up becoming a famous actress and I can say I was in a class with her." Two Emmys later...
