By voting for our film, you’ll help shine a light on a hidden crisis in the UK: people who risk losing their family, community, financial security, and even their home simply for questioning the beliefs they’ve been taught all their lives. We're here to make sure no one faces that alone.
Leaving a high-control religious group can be one of the most painful experiences a person can go through.
Our film shines a light on the support we offer to people rebuilding their lives. So we're deeply moved that it's a finalist in the Smiley Charity Film Awards. 🧵

I hear you. Me too. We do have online weekly peer support sessions too, and many of the people who attend left a religious group many years ago. Sometimes it's validating just to be able to talk with others who understand through shared experience. info@faithtofaithless.com if you are interested. :)

Leaving a high-control religious group can be profoundly difficult. Many people have been raised to believe that anyone outside the group is dangerous, hostile, or morally corrupt, making the process of stepping away feel isolating and overwhelming. @faith2faithless.bsky.social.
High-control religious groups suppress questioning and dissent. The human tragedy is that this culture of control can tear families apart. This is the 'conditional love' experience by so many people who leave. @faith2faithless.bsky.social
We support people leaving high-control religious groups through @faith2faithless.bsky.social. This is vital work. Leaving can be an extremely isolating experience – and we’re here to make sure no one has to face it alone. We help people rebuild their lives, find community, and feel understood.
Important: these videos are increasingly convincing, and will only become more convincing. They're designed to instill fear into the ex-religious. AI gives would-be televangelists a tool to fabricate 'miracles' in a way previously impossible. Beware, and exercise sceptical criticism.
If you're in Newcastle do listen to our wonderful volunteer George who will be speaking about her own experiences leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses, and will talk about the work we do at Faith to Faithless.

Leaving a high-control religion can be incredibly isolating, especially for women who've faced profound levels of religious coercion, abuse, & misogyny. This programme offers a vital space for freedom, solidarity, & rebuilding lives. A well-deserved award for our @faith2faithless.bsky.social team.
