Enshittification my internet friend! Enshittification is a great book that helps one understand why everything is getting worse…and @pluralistic.net.web.brid.gy has ideas for how to turn it around. Although an illegal war may not have been anticipated by the author…

I had to bite my tongue constantly when my first granddaughter was born Nov 2020 and no vaccine available until she was maybe 2. I was and am still livid with both fed and provincial govts. That airborne protocols with masks wasn’t the default option is enraging to me…

Yes, eligibility has reduced year by year. Currently only over 75s & immunosuppressed. It’s recklessly shortsighted.
You can get one at certain pharmacies but have to check first as not always in stock. And again, not for kids under 12.
At a cost of £75 - £99, it’s not sustainable for many.

People can’t even really get covid vaccines in the uk anymore right? And not kids, not for years 🫂

In 2020 in the UK the head of public health said kids were more likely to get run over by a bus than catch Covid, so kids under 12 were never vaccinated. Multiple reinfections later, by 2024 over 100k children had Long Covid and on it goes. And no one’s ever been held to account.

Why does no one seem to care that healthcare acquired infection levels are MASSIVE and DEADLY and COSTLY?

Why does no one seem to care that the person who got dozens of memos on long covid and never said boo to the public leads a population health program at UNB? Why does no one say boo that the infection prevention person who oversaw re-use of vaginal speculums w/o proper sanitization is still the head

The same people who deny the importance of airborne transmission are still in power in various places, provincially and nationally. Check out who is president of CFPC right now, after losing CMA prez vote. Why do these people fail up?

In April, some of our awesome pediatricians did write to government and wrote something few MDs in Canada have dared; that covid is airborne. Higgs ignored them. The healthcare system ignored them. Doctors largely do not seem to care. Pro-infection and droplet dogma types still rule.

But no one apart from POPNB spoke up for masks in NB.

In the end, in March 2022, NB was the only province in the East to go full forced mass infection. NS’s march break was a week later, and during that time the IWK pediatricians wrote an open letter to government asking for masks to continue to be required in school. Their government listened.

March break 2022 really sucked for parents in #NBPoli. We knew we were sending our kids into forced infection when school returned. Some of my friends have not sent their kids since. Their kids are happy and educated and in caring community.

Unscientific cowardly assholes, the lot of them. And where are they now. So few people working for reducing infections; drawing any attention to long COVID. So many of them received clear and repeated warnings with citations about long covid, drom Dr. Nemer. Federal chief science officer.

I’m washing dishes in my kitchen. I was here 4 years ago listening to Phoebe Bridgers and crying my face off that my government was really going to do this to all the kids. May I remind you that in March 2022 *THERE WASN’T A 0-5 COVID VACCINE.* Forced mass infection, including all of our youngest.

The real harms of the unchecked spread of airborne illness have never been made transparent to the public. And so here we are today, in ignorance. This season only about 50% of the people who got flu vaccines got their covid vaccine. Intentional downplaying of harms of covid continues to harm us.

How did let it rip work out for us? How has it been 4 full years since then and we still have a healthcare system denying airborne transmission. Municipalities display no new knowledge of how disease spreads. Have heard of no entity improving IAQ, except schools which we have pushed so hard for.

4 years ago, NB abruptly went from closing due to omicron, to encouraging the hasty and deadly spread of disease. No more counting school cases, no more masks, no more isolation, no more testing required. And education and health reps were all unavailable for comment.

Cannot tell you how depressing it is to read that people are simply refusing to read nonfiction after you’ve worked really hard to write a nonfiction book you believe in, in case anyone is wondering why I’m posting so much about my book which comes out in a few weeks #BookSky

The Most Chilling Detail in the U.S. Attack on an Iranian Naval Ship
The Iranian warship was taking part in an international exercise with many other countries—including the United States.
This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

Still not clear on why the insider trading company targeting kids with gambling ads is permitted to legally operate, but then again I feel that way about a lot of tech companies that would have been broken up and forced to close as flagrantly criminal enterprises even 20 years ago.

N.S. premier filibustered when tasked with answering energy questions, say opposition | CBC News
The premier and opposition leaders battled for time on the floor of the legislature Thursday on a topic that’s become a political lightning rod: energy.
I am angry, because if Houston did not remove 1% of the HST and the toll removals for the bridges and Cobequid Pass, we would have the revenue to keep all of these programs for the Arts, Tourism, Culture in Nova Scotia. #NovaScotia #HoustonFail
