So good to have a sensible, intelligent, grown up PM during this crisis, after years of terrible PMs.
The thought of any other current party leader dealing with this really scares me.

Independent share was less than the increase in share Labour got.
Share for Reform also went down.
So even if all the independent's votes went to Labour, there is still a vote share shift from Reform to Labour.
That literally scares me!

This is an area where Reform have been in charge for 10 months and it's seeing votes switching from Reform to Labour.
Exactly as we said would happen when people experienced Reform!
And yet she is (by far) the best Green MP they have at the moment. Still a thousand miles below Caroline Lucas, who I have also criticised is the past (she used to be my MP)
Both Badenoch and the again Shadow Foreign Secretary, Priti Patel, have made horrendous and disgusting comments this week.
At a time we need all of Parliament to pull together, the Tories have made it extra personal with disgusting attacks. They have sunk to a new low.

The Commission will continue it's worth this year and is expected to start up a national conversation, which will likely have many opportunities for people to engage with the Commission's work.
It's really good to see both immediate action and longer term work on social care being done!

...as work progressed. This week she has written to the government with a number of immediate recommendations covering adult safeguarding, dementia and motor neurone disease. Her letter is linked here.
These have accepted by the government, as can be read in the response in the post below.

A year ago, the Labour government instructed Louise Casey to carry out an Independent Commission on Adult Social Care.
This is a major piece of work to fundamentally transform the care sector and will take a long time.
But Baroness Casey said she would feedback with any immediate actions...

Thousands of low‑income households will see lower water bills thanks to the biggest overhaul of WaterSure in nearly 30 years.
The changes will expand the eligibility criteria to include disability benefits, meaning a further 53k low-income households will see significant savings.

Of course, NHS dental services are important to improve as well.
But by reviewing private dentistry, it puts an end to exploitative practices it could mean NHS dentistry itself becomes more attractive.
So this could even help NHS services!
This is excellent! Following a review of veterinary services, which lead to significant new rules, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched a review of private dentistry, looking at both essential care and cosmetic treatments.
Let's hope it leads to better, more affordable services!

There is still time for the Lords to agree to this Labour manifesto promise and for it to become law before the end of this Parliamentary session.
But will the Lords accept the mandate of the Government has to do this?

After 6 months of inaction, the House of Lords appears ready to consider the House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill again.
Consideration of the Commons amendments (to over turn those the Lords made to water it down) has been scheduled for next Tuesday, 10th March 2026!
