There can surely be no honest & legitimate justification for the Nurse in Dead by Daylight, right?
Sure she’s hard to learn, but she’s also utterly game breaking by design. It’s absurd!

Monarch season 2 started reasonably well for me. I enjoyed the popcorn fun of S1 so hopefully things continue well this time around!
A stunning vintage!
RIP old friend
I absolutely adore the Man O War one - I still cherish it!
Now that’s a cool photo!
Yet another reason to get excited!
Here’s a fun bit of mail: Mantic have sent me a prototype copy of the upcoming Dreadball Allstars!
I got to chat with designer Jervis Johnson about his approach to the game & will be sharing my initial impressions in a video relatively soon!
"Friends" is a beloved American sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004, following six young adults—Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe—living in New York City. The show explores their friendships, romances, careers, and personal growth over ten seasons.

This was a fun one: an HP Lovecraft adaptation masquerading as an Edgar Allan Poe story featuring Vincent Price and Lon Chaney!
Why Mr Corman, you’re spoiling us!
They’re still so fascinating!
I got your #WorldBookDay right here!
On a related note, the Warhammer Film Club's halloween special last year tackled Color Out of Space and I was asked for my favourite Lovecraft adaptation. I realised I hadn't seen many so I am trying to correct that!

Until recently horror magazine Fangoria hosted a free online archive & whilst rooting around in the back issues I read about an unproduced Shadow Over Innsmouth adaptation by Stuart Gordon.
Having now finally seen Re-Animator, I imagine it could have been really cool! I must check out Dagon next.
I suppose our perspectives are a product of how we’re primarily using BGG - forum vs archive to an extent!
I still think it’s confusing & even misleading for BGG to position them as the same game. To me it’s like saying Tomb Raider (1996) & Tomb Raider (2013) are the same
I’m guessing it’s because they’re so closely compatible, but I think it makes it harder to understand the history of the game this way
I get the impulse to combine them, but I’d argue from here to eternity that they are quite literally different games. A single entry makes it harder to discern those differences and to track the history of the game, but despite their compatibility, from art to content to context they are different
An unnecessarily confusing combination of the HeroQuest 2021 box art and the original 1989 HeroQuest production details. It creates the impression that these are the same games, ignoring art, physical production, and release context. This is also makes it harder to have specific conversations on BGG about one edition or another, to share material, and to preserve insight & discussion
I've said this before, but I'm pleading now - @boardgamegeek.com please consider making separate entries for revised games that are re-released under the same name.
It is self-evidently more beneficial for HeroQuest (1989) & HeroQuest (2021) to have their own profiles than to share a single entry!
That’s very true, it’d take some very elegant rules writing for sure
Okay, well now that’s what I want too!
It’d be so cool, right? Just a single awesome knight with all these inventive & interesting hangers-on that do loads of cool things. Very themey and what not!
After watching the excellent Codex Compliant on Imperial Knights I can’t help but feel like the faction could have been so much better if their armies just had one knight in them along with squads of squirely types who usually maintain & clean the knight’s weapons between battles.
Hey you, whatcha doin?
That’s right - the Bisley cover was on the short story collection with the same name (named for the Jack Yeovil short within).
After Boxtree took over the GW Books license they commissioned Newman to expand his short into a full novel as an intro to the Demon Download cycle. And they kept the name!
Check out my GW Book Club livestream on March 22nd for reactions & review of the book!

Now reading:
Route 666,
by Jack Yeovil
An expanded version of an earlier short story this is the final book by Yeovil aka Kim Newman in the Dark Future world. It’s going to be a bittersweet read, but I bet it’ll be worth it!

✨New Codex Compliant✨
Today we're taking a look at the first Imperial Knights codex from 6th edition and asking ourselves the question: what's the minimum amount of pages a rulebook can have before it stops being a rulebook?
