The IFA never seem to care about all the cattle feed imported from Brazil 🤔🤔 so weird, you'd think that their quality concerns would extend to what they feed their cattle

I analysed the DoJ’s immigration chatbot for @iccl.bsky.social and the amount of seriously wrong information it gave was shocking even to me. The idea that people fleeing persecution would be expected to rely on a chatbot in lieu of actual legal advice is 😱😱😱

Ah sure ye know how it is
He'd go so far as making it a criminal offence but not so far as a properly enforced vacant property tax at a level that provides a substantial deterrent 🙄
Let us not forget, either, his outright, steadfast refusal to borrow money for capital investment at a time when interest rates were 0 or less!
Endless austerity combined with tax giveaways to multinational business is not “the centre”. It is the right. Donohue is a right-wing politician. He’s a nice man who read books and listens to records and enacts right-wing policy positions. www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2025...
Centrist dad media columns incoming.
Unless the left manages to select a single candidate to represent all parties and contest both the Galway and Dublin Central by-elections simultaneously all hope for them is lost. ⚰️🗳️
I wonder how this happened?
Tánaiste @simonharrisireland.bsky.social says that immigration numbers are too high.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin says that 60-70% of asylum seekers aren't really asylum seekers at all, they are economic migrants trying to trick us www.kildarestreet.com/debate/?id=2....

An Irish election with only 2 candidates? Won't someone please think of the count, the spreadsheets, the transfers speculation! #Áras25 #SpeirGorm
Jim Gavin quits Irish presidential race.
Irish media tomorrow:
"CATHERINE CONNOLLY ONCE BORROWED A LIBRARY BOOK ABOUT TROTSKY!!"
Seems a better time than most to wheel this one out.
I have to say - although there is truth to it of course -the defence of migration on the basis of economic usefulness is just so dispiriting. Does that mean that people with limited ability to work (disabilities/caring roles/whatever) don't have value for their humanity. #Aras25 #SpeirGorm
Actually, Órla, their selection of cheeses is a actually very good, actually.
I wish I could edit like this.
Jesus H Christ - has Tony Blair not done enough damage in the middle east.

I'm delighted to share that Karl Stanley, a longtime friend, comrade and DBN Social Democrats member has been selected as my replacement to represent the Clontarf LEA on Dublin City Council.
I have every faith in Karl's ability & commitment to delivering for the people of Dublin and our local area
Will anyone in the govt parties try rubbing two brain cells together and actually do some analysis of the situation rather than just lifting government policy from developer wish lists?
Once more for the Ministers at the back of the class.
You got us into this mess by reducing standards & sizes to begin with ➡️ driving up the price of land (if you can sell a piece of land that would have fit 10 apts as now fitting 20 you can sell it for €€++)
Stop doubling down on your idiiocy
So Lynn moved on. As for my Dad, he was doing some work on how to improve what had been a truly awful education system that, until the mid-1960s, had only offered high school to the children of the middle classes, and a university education to a tiny elite
Lynn was interested in IQ, where Irish people did not score highly. “So I formulated the theory that the low IQ was likely a significant reason for the economic backwardness. The solution for this problem was obvious. What was needed was a set of eugenic policies that would raise the Irish IQ.”
I was surprised to discover (from Hayek’s Bastards) that Richard Lynn had worked in Dublin in the early 1970s, and even more surprised when I discovered that he was a researcher at the Economic and Social Research Institute at exactly the same time as my father.
Keir Starmer should be ashamed of himself. The entire Labour party and British left should be ashamed of him. The ends do not justify the means when the means are dehumanising. Pandering to the far right is never the answer. Labour party in name only.
Three women DCC Cllrs - Cllr Cat O'Driscoll, Cllr Catherine Stocker and Cllr Aishling Silke - standing in front of a pillar in City Hall Dublin with a member of DCC staff and a representative of As I Am - an Irish autism representative organisation.
Was great to meet with Zarah from As I Am this week to take a walk through City Hall and discuss measures to achieve Autism Friendly City Hall accreditation. This initiative has been spearheaded by my colleague Cllr Jesslyn Henry as one of the measures we need to move towards a more inclusive city.
Thank you @cianocallaghantd.bsky.social and @catzstocker.bsky.social for highlighting this issue. At our Fórsa AGM, I put forward a motion on this very topic. No family should have to endure the stress of a High Court action just to access the support their child is entitled to.
Disgraceful that this is the lengths parents have to go to. 😔
TD @cianocallaghantd.bsky.social spoke in the Dáil on delays in Assessment of Need
I became aware - through my own experience - that many are being forced to take legal action in order to get AON
It shouldn't take an application to the High Court to get a child assessed

Many thanks to @antonsavage.bsky.social on @newstalkfm.bsky.social for talking to me about the hugely important issue of lack of access to PHN developmental checks for babies. This govt is playing healthcare jenga with our services and we are all suffering podcasts.apple.com/ie/podcast/t...
