I’ve just bought a Z1-6 Off Peak Travelcard from my local Thameslink station into London… despite getting free TfL travel… because the evening peak services towards home are off peak travelcard-able, but not off peak return-able.
How the layperson is expected to understand that is BEYOND me.
Ha fortunately it’s the same route, just starting closer to home!
Woke up early on my first day back at work for 2 weeks and my first day at the new depot 🙃
Good news! I slept! 8h30 to make up for the measly 3 something hours yesterday… so I’m feeling a bit less like a zombie today.
He had a bath last weekend! And I’m sick… so I deserve it too 🥺

And so my week of leave begins… honestly I don’t recall the last time I felt such a need for time off and I’m so glad it’s here.
This has been one of the most stressful work weeks of my life. Certainly since I left teaching.
It’ll be a nice walk in the woods, some cleaning, and a cocktail this evening to celebrate it finally being fucking over.
Finish work at 1:26, home by (hopefully) 2:45… and up by 8am for my EV Charger to be installed.
If I’m still human tomorrow evening for work, those passengers had better be fucking grateful 😇

Well. I am starting the new year actually looking my age and having an age appropriate haircut… and a shave.
Not a terrible first Christmas in my new home.

Today is my Friday / Christmas Eve and honestly I’ve never been more ready for a few days off.
Roll on 1:03am and home time.
I would like to shave to look more presentable.
My shaving kit is in UNKNOWN BOX SOMEWHERE.
I am over a week in and still have boxes all over and idk where anything that isn’t already unpacked is…
Oh and my toothbrush has today asked for a recharge. Do I know where the charger is? lol no.
I am not a morning person and I have spent the last 2 weeks being a human before I would ordinarily exist.
I’m back on dead lates from Monday. I need to get back into the right routine.
D’ya know what I really appreciate this evening? Sitting on a sofa. Or more accurately, not sitting on the floor.

Just waiting for the solicitors to confirm they have the money for my new house and we are done.

I do, however, now know that the floor does not make a comfortable bed.

I’m sitting on the floor in the house I woke up in, without furniture, but with a good few more grey hairs.
No move today thanks to solicitors… despite all parties’ funds being released from their banks.

Right. It’s 6:55am and I’ve given my solicitors permission to exchange and complete today.
I swear if this doesn’t go through today, I’m driving to my buyer’s solicitors and slapping each of them in the face 😇
Shower time, then bed… and wake up painfully early (for me) to be ready to do more poking and prodding to make sure I fucking move tomorrow… while simultaneously telling the removals company what to do and cleaning the house and looking after the dogs.
I haven’t finished all the packing or all the sorting. Almost all, but not all.
And frankly, it’s 2 hours to go until what should be moving day and it isn’t and I’m tired and kinda done.
Hopefully today is the last day in my current home, my first step onto the property ladder.
I think the second will be my final. This was stressful enough. Never again, thank you.
And that’s assuming it all goes through tomorrow.
I still need to finish packing my bedroom up (not too much, but enough that I can be stressed about it).
Kitchen needs packing. That should take about 2 hours, I hope.
Technology needs to be disconnected.
But that’s about it. I hope.
All while keeping myself and the dogs alive.
