Just need the Arsenal mural in the background π
Wee book starting to become a reality.
Hopefully get one or two interested souls out there.
Concentrating mainly on the final decade of the USSR through the prism of football.
Or just plain old insane. π
How do you practice/get good at some of these sports?!

Sad news about John Virgo. A beautiful cadence in his voice that was perfect for snooker commentary.
I got an email this morning to say it could appear in Waterstones Feb.
If thatβs confirmed Iβll let you know.
Cheers Steve.
Hopefully get a wee bit of interest.
Iβm not pinning any hopes on an early retirement ππ
Good man Dennis.
Hope you enjoy it.
Bit of a labour of love.

Old turnstiles & pylon at Windsor Park, Belfast.
Thank you.
Jonathan.
Sorry to trouble you.
I was wondering if you had any material or links to research on Volodymyr Yemets. I'm writing a book on the 80s USSR set up and I'm currently on a chapter about Minsk and Dnipro's title wins. Finding very little on Yemets. βΉοΈ
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated
Great part of the city too, Phibsborough.
Well I think so anyway. Maybe the locals would disagree. π
Love when floodlights dominate the local area.

Going by some of twitter, they believe there's a form of NFL-style scheduling. π
Heβll need some of those tablets after todayβs match.
Absolutely hate the concept of the u23 teams.
As much as we can find fault in the monetary aspect of the English game, esp the top end of the PL, you cannot fault the structure and the strength of the pyramid.
Hopefully there will never be any avenue or appetite for B teams/u23 teams.
Pro might be ok by the looks of it.
Others are in a right old mess.

That stand behind the goal is one of my favourite up and down the country. Must be a great wee viewing point in the upper tier.
Rio βHype Manβ Ferdinand was more than enough for anyoneβs sanity.
Stranraer is my βteamβ in Scotland.
Went on a local Rangers SC bus trip to Ibrox. Told the club guys to sell my ticket.
Left the ferry as a foot passenger and spent the day watching the mighty Stranraer.
Living it up in the social club. π
Jumped back on the bus when they returned from Glasgow.
My earliest memories of Scottish teams in Europe usually involved Aberdeen or Dundee United.
Unfortunately, that Roma side always reminds me of the unsavoury end to the semi final in 84. No doubt oul Jim had them well riled in the lead up but the scenes at the end aren't what you want to see.
Superb piece on a very tragic story about an incredible player.
