When commenting on domestic US economic effects of #Iran war and potential impact on #midterms2026 please recall that electorates' views on economy in spring are weakly correlated with voting choice, whereas those views in autumn are strongly correlated with voter choice. #elections

What MAGA Can Teach Democrats About Organizing—and Infighting Republicans have become adept at creating broad coalitions in which supporting Trump is the only requirement. Democrats get tied up with litmus tests.

Great piece by Charles Duhigg on how #Democrats are good at mobilizing but get caught up in ideological litmus tests, whereas #Republicans organize and convert organization into votes. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

The US has 8 US$1 trillion+ companies (one is US$3 trilllion+). Europe have none. While the US companies are all high-tech, Europe's most valuable company is French luxury brand LVMH (US$350 billion). Two entirely divergent economies. #TradeWar

Grok produced an interesting list of the Top 10 most important cities in #oilandgas: Houston, London, Singapore, Dubai, Geneva, Riyadh, Beijing, Moscow, Calgary, Stavanger. Geneva is perhaps surpsiring as it's easy to forget its major role in oil trading (Vitol, Trafigura, etc.).
