Sound Transit is projecting it can save something on the order of $600 million by redesigning some of its subway stations planned for the Ballard Link extension!
Ash Way is a one-stop ride from Lynnwood and has not filled up completely even with the Revive I-5 construction. Buses run every 15 minutes on 201/202 and every 15 on 512 with direct HOV ramp access at both points, so it's literally quicker than driving solo into Lynnwood TC.
Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine says the early estimate of Link ridership yesterday during the Super Bowl victory parade was 200,000, an conservative number that is expected to be revised upward.
That beats the 160,000-rider previous high water mark for Link.
Sounder saw around 20,000 boardings.
Only the priority seating announcement is in multiple languages, mostly to help during the World Cup.
Line for Sounder (! that it exists) is insane right now. Stretches down 2nd Ave

Rolling updates on parking capacity at Sound Transit facilities.
Take a bus from another park and ride if you need to. Mariner and Ash Way are good alternatives to Lynnwood.
A small preview of the sidewalk density we should expect for tomorrow's parade

There are some great vantage points to watch Link testing on the floating bridge.
Memorial Stadium was demolished, and Starfire does not meet FIFA/CONCACAF standards.
There is no ability to run express trains and it's not a common sight for rail systems in the US. For stadium events, the 2 Line will be relatively insulated from the high demand on the 1 Line thanks to the split at ID/Chinatown. An extra trip from Northgate could run using that pocket track.
It kills me that we used to have "Seattle & University of Washington" on the signs back when UW was the terminus.
Even if was a little silly to have a train to "Seattle" signed even in the Rainier Valley, which is in Seattle.
