I would very much prefer proliferation, but France being more forward leaning is much appreciated. It is something that can make a difference in the here and now.
It would be annoying if Europe gets dragged into this through commitments to the gulf states or threats to Cyprus.
This should really be the US and Israel’s mess to deal with.
How robust are the French security commitments to the UAE? Will France need to deploy any forces to bolster their air defences?

I agree that Europe must embrace assuming leadership of NATO going forward.

Detta är så fruktansvärt oseriöst. Det kommer naturligtvis inte springa några barn i minerad gränsmark om kriget kommer. Det handlar om våra möjligheter att samverka med Finland och Baltikum, och att inte riskera svenska soldaters liv i onödan. Självklart ska vi lämna fördraget.
