Bots, social media, clickbait outrage porn, and predators who prey on people’s emotions and weaknesses for notoriety and profit have certainly contributed to the violence the world is experiencing today. They don’t create the grievance, but they amplify it, inflame it, and weaponise it.

Yes, I agree. I believe Russia and Israel both have played much larger roles in a lot of what is disrupting the U.S. & the world than we realise.
I once thought a “global elite paedophile ring” was a conspiracy theory. Now I know it wasn’t. Russian assets in the US government? Easily believable.
I know that after the dust settles, there will be an urge to punish and silence ideologues—such as Laura Loomer et al. in the U.S. But I’d like to see them rehabilitated, so that we can learn what they experienced, how they were manipulated, and how we can prevent this from happening again.

Yet another massive Russian attack on Ukraine. There are dead and injured.
Last night, Russia launched more than 370 drones and 21 missiles of various types at Ukraine. Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions were attacked.
I’m concerned for his mental wellbeing. It seems like he has a pretty severe social media addiction. I’m all for free speech & he’s allowed to be as vocal as he likes… but views should be expressed in a respectful way. How does he ever come back from all of this? Hope he finds a solid mentor.
The U.S. should not have invaded Venezuela, just as Russia should not have invaded Ukraine, and Israel should not be committing genocide in Gaza.

Don’t know the author or her situation. But I do empathise. Good on her for sticking at it. I made the decision about 6 months ago to walk away from the “China space”, & it’s brought me so much peace. Sad, bit of a waste, but right for me. Hope things change though.
At the end of the day, the saddest thing about my experiences in China is that they taught me to be afraid of people.
It took time, but I’m not afraid anymore.
I didn’t realise how guarded I’d become until I wasn’t. Now I’ll talk to anyone. About anything. And I love it.

A former colleague (we hosted children’s shows together for years) came all the way to Brisbane for two nights after a holiday in New Caledonia… just to see me. I didn’t cry when we met at the airport, but just shed a little tear watching this back. 友谊地久天长🫂
It’s been three years since I last stared down a camera and read a teleprompter. Hard to believe I was once on TV every day. These days, I honestly couldn’t think of anything worse. I’m glad I gave it a go, but… been there, done that. Probably never again. Funny how life can change so dramatically.
Question: Why is it that when people disagree with someone, they need to provide a disclaimer saying that they don’t “dislike” the person, or don’t “hate” the person they don’t agree with? Since when has difference of opinion become an attack? It’s not. It’s just a different way of thinking.
