You know, I get the rage… But anyone who has or had an elderly loved one (or is one) has seen this type of rash or wounds and seeing it described as evil or gross or decomposing … It is hurtful, tbh. There is no reason to lose our humanity and compassion because others lack compassion.

It's fractal. Do you disrupt domination & supremacy patterns wherever you find them (even, maybe especially) in your own heart/mind? Do you strengthen mutuality & interdependence wherever you can? The little moments build strength, wisdsom, & pattern recognition for the bigger ones, in my experience

Yes! Language is such a limited representation of reality that it is insanity to think models based on language can come close to anything like consciousness or sentience. Or that the things these models spit out are in any way creative. The scariest part is that so many barely feel the difference.

This is why I am less afraid of AI and more afraid of what people think it is or could be for them/us. What happens when people don’t even realize they now live in or with an abstraction (even more)? I guess we’re already finding out in many ways…

I just reread the Diamond Sutra (as translated by Thay) and thought of this post again. The insistence in the text on us not being able to measure things, and things not being graspable nor elusive, really stood out to me today, in part because of this post. Thank you 🙏🏻
