Seems like most people understand what this could mean for the country as a whole, and our people.
Seems like most people understand what this could mean for the country as a whole, and our people.
I mean they had a chance to MAYBE try a little course correction with the public⦠and ended up fecking it... So, so very badly.
Cheers as always Richard!
Always a mystery how some make it & others donβt, & these years were full of label backed CD sellers, but it is ALWAYS a pleasure to see & hear what the cohort enjoy.
Glad some I didnβt choose got through, - a few that passed me by were great βnew findsβ.
Onwards!
Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins! β€οΈ Just missed out on my list. π’
Cheers Richard!

Absolutely terrifying prospect.
An ideology comparable to setting a dumpster on fire and rolling it through a tinderbox forest, not because you should, but because you canβt thinking anything better to do and βit might work, it might notβ.
This not a valid or sensible policy approach.
He hates women, hates people of colour, hates Jews, hates ANYONE that is βbeneathβ him.
He is the worst of humanity. A debasement, brown nosing Trump wannabe with kit a single good idea or solution.
He has repeatedly shown us EXACTLY who he is; the press should fight back & maybe de-platform him.
What a bunch ofβ¦.
Nothing good comes from these people.
Nothing hopeful for the communities of Gorton and Denton.
Nothing to make anyoneβs lives better.
Itβs just an ugly pitch to boost Matt Goodwinβs needy ego.
Voting for this is voting for hatred and failure.
manchestermill.co.uk/goodwins-gan...
βFarageβ¦decided the complaint was not serious enough to warrant a rethink about Goodwinβs selectionβ¦
[He]characterised the complaint as βjust Matt being Mattβ
Hmm. Not sure a pair of misogynists are the best people to judge whatβs βserious enoughβ.
Letβs ask her.

Vampire Weekend - s/t
Utterly superb LP with some ridiculously good playing from all of the members.
Rhythm is brilliant, great vocal harmonies, song topics at times weird, really interesting though, brilliant instrumentation & production.
Gonna be in my 5 for sure.
So it turns out Matt Goodwin's Reform campaign manager was a holocaust-denying Nazi who said he would "never touch a Jewish woman.β
When do we start seeing all the coverage of the antisemitism crisis in Reform UK?
www.jewishnews.co.uk/reform-uk-su...
Heartbreaking from @yasminalibhaibrown.bsky.social on the very real damage Farage and Reform are doing to our country and shared future.
βBrexit was the first, deep cut into that optimistic, multiracial Britain. What has followed was entirely predictable.β

Ladyhawke- s/t
New Zealandβs Pip Brown made this synthy indie pop banger of an LP.
Paris Is Burning, My Delirium, Dusk Till Dawn, Back Of The Van, Magic - every one a banger.
All catchy, lyrically interesting, & excellently produced songs.
As good an album as any from 05-09

Little Boots - Hands
Victoria Heskethβs debut bounces from one infectious tune to another.
I love every single song on this, some fun, some dark, many both, & she wielded that Tenori-On during gigs like a magical weapon.
Shades of Donna Summer, Kylie, Moroder & Eurythmics.

The Pipettes - We Are The Pipettes
2006. Joyously fun, hugely infectious, hooky tunes, & an unapologetic 40 minute love letter to girl groups of the past.
Much more sophisticated than it seems.
The fact that we got solo Gwenno & Rose Elinor Dougall (The Waeve) later is a bonus.
Fantastic shout.
Love this tune, love @carlajeaston.bsky.social

Thanks Richard! It was a great poll to jump back in on (I was 14β19 during these years), & I listened to a lot of stuff I missed at the time.
4 of my picks made it, which is delightful, as I still listen to them regularly.
Good to see so many I love but had to cast aside through too.
Donβt pretend that if youβre voting for them, that you donβt want this.
