I think the oldest game I'd go back to and stack up next to basically any modern platformer is Super Mario Bros. 3

I also don't think A Link to the Past has been topped in its genre.

I understand the love for StarFox 64 though. I love the voice acting, music and it's still fun

I'm StarFox SNES pilled but the game just feels faster even if you aren't using the frame rate hacks they have on modern emulators. Imo, StarFox 64 is so slow and free range mode in empty fields doesn't hold up as well as flying down a tube filling up constantly with weirdo geometry👌

Too many to count really but Mario 3, Castlevania 3, A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy 6, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Skyrim, Breath of the Wild are probably at the top of my list 👌
