I am forever grateful that Terry Pratchett was with us as long as he was and it was not even close to enough
his work made me a better person, and I do not think I'm alone in that
GNU Terry Pratchett, we are so much poorer without you
Sometimes I feel like a fraud at neurodivergence because Iβm only a wee bit autistic and in many ways tend to read as neurotypical if a bit odd, but I do have the autistic personβs great love of a metro system.
Of course internationally weβre currently thirteenth, behind 12 Chinese cities and Moscow. But we are also the oldest, the original and best.
MINOR ALARM as we watch The Taking of Pelham One Two Three as they declare the New York subway system the largest in the world. Panic ensues. BUT! Itβs 1974, five years before the addition of 23 miles of Jubilee Line. NY pushed into second place, national pride restored.
A screenshot of a BBC article which says βWe cannot know whether the GPs who responded to the BBC questionnaire are representative of all family doctors.β
1) Absolutely no mention of how this compares to fit notes for physical illnesses, which is surely a necessary baseline.
2) Lmao, may have just said βthis was a waste of time!β
Slight hiccup at this though I when making small talk at the end and someone asked βSo, are you a statistician?β and I had to burble βNo, I have a Film Studies degree.β
2) Just had a meeting with our new head of service about the potential data science offer within the organisation and was taken seriously and seen as someone that can make a helpful and constructive contribution?!

Generally there aren't a whole load of moments where you can say Red Dwarf was prophetic but the Talkie Toaster has become horrifyingly real.
The ideal social media CEO is a gray dopey type who just posts press releases and doesnβt use their own product. Very much like drug dealing, as it turns out.
A screenshot from the BBC Sounds app stating the 2006 film Crash was directed by David Cronenberg.
also some OBVIOUS ERRORS in this programme in 2006βs Best Picture winner Crash
A screenshot of the BBC Sounds app, showing Wimsey - Busmanβs Honeymoon from January 1983.
I have re-embraced BBC Sounds but have discovered a bit of an Issue where your My Sounds tab is ordered by original broadcast date rather than most recent broadcast date, so if you want to listen to Lord Peter Wimsey you have to scroll all the way back to 1983 even though it was on this afternoon
Pondering since last night's rewatch of IKWIG about how much the works of Powell & Pressburger insist that life has magic in it, but it's magic that you have to actively welcome and tune into. The wonder is all around, but the real trick is to crack your heart open for it.
My hairdresser and friend opened her business last week. Tonight it burned to the ground. This is devastating.
Iβve set up a fundraiser. If you havenβt done anything for international womenβs day yet, hereβs a chance to support a women-run business in need: www.paypal.com/pools/c/9nhn...
