A dense tangle of gnarled thorny vines twists across a background of pure white, punctuated with little jewel-like droplets of blood. I had fairy tale Evil Queens in mind when I illustrated this scarf, but I also like the idea of these thorns being worn as a symbolically protective hedge or as a hallowed crown of thorns. Here, I’m wearing the scarf wrapped around my head to hide my frizz
The scarf is constructed from two layers of pure silk satin, with vivid digital printing on both sides, so the illustration looks perfectly vibrant and crisp from all angles, regardless of how you tie it. Here, im wearing it as a cravat tucked into a waistcoat.
