Seconded.
It might also help keep stupid Americans from getting Iraq and Iran mixed up although I have zero hope of most of America ever registering that Iranians don't (generally) speak Arabic.

Third-culture kid. Car enthusiast except for LS swaps. My mind is held together by garden dirt & JS Bach. Once and future dog owner. Poet. Words: https://elephantschild.substack.com/ Don't blame me; I voted against Leopards Eating People's Faces.
Seconded.

#proudmom So my kid (age 23) is now 1) a certified electrical worker (she knows enough OSHA regs to probably not get herself killed working around high voltage) and 2) is a certified technician for one of these multi-million dollar dohickeys.

I'm going to debadge my Buick Verano just to make people twitch.
A dusk-lighting photo of a corner gas station, with a large sign that simply says "CHEESE AND WINE" on the corner of the building.
I do love Wisconsin.
A black Mercury Marauder in a 3/4-angle "beauty shot" posed on a residential street, chrome wheels tilted beguilingly at the camera.
Best 15-foot paint job there ever was!
A long, sleek classic three-box BMW in dark red poses on a brick street in front of a manufacturing complex.
πI miss it every day.
A beat-up old red Honda CR-Z, missing some trim, is posed in front of a Praxair tank near a microbrewery in the soft light of early evening.
π₯Ή thank you.

My sister started a GoFundMe for the bits that haven't been covered by our generally-wonderful, mostly-helpful-so-far health insurance.

When this is all over (if it ever is) I'm going to write a book about how the marketization of breast cancer + the enshittification of Google searching has obliterated online resources for men suffering the insults of other kinds of cancer.

I mean, I wouldn't work either if I had LUXURIOUS CHENILLE for a belly.
But how will she afford the corrective measures for her melting face?
Clearly, a $12 toaster is too cheap a toaster.
Outdoor cats' water bowl supplied enough water to douse the flames while I ran inside for a dishpan full of dishwater for the final extinguishment.
No hose hooked up this time of year.
Ripped out the plug, whipped the toaster, with flames coming out of the top, to the floor, flipped our kitchen fire blanket on it, got the flames to a smolder. Wrapped the blanket around it and ran the whole smoking bundle outside, where the flames reignited as the breeze got under the fire blanket.
Because life wasn't exciting enough, this morning our toaster spontaneously caught on fire.
Thank God I was standing right next to it and had not run downstairs while the toaster pastry heated like I momentarily thought I might.
Seriously. It's an extra shitty year for everyone.
Thalidomide comes to mind as well. What's a missing arm when Mom was able to treat her morning sickness?π¬
Just in time for our huge trache of cancer appointments 62 miles away from home.

Gonzo, our president is now a cat. Weβve had cat presidents for 299 years. Itβs the best.
Aaaaaahh that makes sense.
What happened to Trump's red ties? Seems like every photo I see of him lately, no red tie.
Undeniable truth of cancer, #7: the appointments will take longer than they say. Always.
Monarch butterfly feeding.
In the midst of so much darkness it is easy to lose sight of the light. It is there. Even a glimmer helps keep hope alive. Do something positive each day to help others. No act is too small. There was a period in my life when anotherβs smile kept my hope alive. #hope #kindness β€οΈ
I have been interested in the Regal T, but finding one of the 7 ordered in manual transmission is probably not worth the chassis and handling disappointment.
A victory in a hundred ways besides finishing a 5k. π
I write a car review about a car that's generally fine, mostly.

Here he is.
I don't know: our Chevy Volt was just hauled away as a brick, because GM decided not to give a crap and support replacement battery development. Current a 2-year wait for replacement batteries.
I'll never buy an EV or PHEV from GM again.
I am hearing "heat sinks" and "300-watt" from the living room: two of my husband's organist friends, both also electricity and HVAC ubernerds, too, are visiting.
(Praying it encourages him and doesn't wear him out. Chemo was SO rough last week.)
