As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. It’s often said you never know when you’re living through history, so let me assure you: that’s what’s happening now.
Part of the reason the whole country hasn't been screaming about trans Kansans who drive being made criminals overnight is because there's so much else that's unconstitutional and horrifying.
But part of it is because it's happening to trans people.
it is so funny to me that of all the things i have ever posted about art, the most controversial take WITHOUT QUESTION is when i say that the best thing you can do if you want a career as an artist is to be KIND to your peers. folks get SO upset by that one, which i think is unfortunately telling

1 I seldom had this much fun with the Greek myths.
2 This book is so full of love! It makes you want to go and hug your children.

Some heartfelt observations from my friend:
The best sleep I got when I was forced to sleep upright (pregnant with sciatica) was in that glider rocking chair with foot rest. Might be something to think about if you are looking at having to do this long term.
