I can't imagine a version of Iconoclasts where Robin isn't silent, that just doesn't make sense to me, which tells me it was probably the right decision
Like... it does genuinely work, in a similar way that Byleth being mostly silent does work for Fire Emblem Three Houses. Her being silent just so happens ot be part of her identity, so... it plays into that trope while still allowing her to be a part of the story, I guess?
I will say that it is a bit weird for Iconoclasts, a game with extremely strong character writing to have a (mostly) silent protagonist, especially one who is anything but a blank slate and clearly has an inendidty and whose internal turmoil is still shown, albeit sparingly.
Okay but have you considered that Sakiko is definitely in a time loop (source: I can kinda just tell regardless of what is "canon")
god Iconoclasts is so well-written what the fuck
