writing my thoughts sometimes comes easily and automatically, but organizing, proofreading, revising, and deciding on things..not so much.

it could be a piece of lore for a fantasy about a truce in the never-ending class wars of a society, where the capitalists are allowed to go on as they have, but only if they participate in this annual purge. suddenly, they'd compete to be #2, forced to *spend* to maintain status. drama commences.

of course this shitpost of a plan only works if everyone's opted in, and nobody can conceal their assets. so, yknow, not necessarily verified to be realistic in any way at this time or in any plausible or even possible future.

(or perhaps just the bottom 10% but i digress, i'd have to do Math to see how that works out and it's too late on Friday for that)

Part of that "wisdom to know the difference" is the wisdom to know that "can this be changed" often has a conditional answer.

More precisely, it mentions the things "I" cannot change. But change often requires a group effort. There are many things you (singular) cannot change yourself that you could with enough people working together.

In my house growing up, the classic Serenity Prayer, wishing for the serenity to accept what cannot be changed, the courage to change what can, and the wisdom to know the difference, was posted on the wall.

It's memorable, but here's the thing.
