Right. I was set up a good deal west of Huwei near the end of the sugarcane fields.

In a cornfield now chasing high speed rail trains. It’s prob nice and quiet here at night. A lot of birds here now. (And fighter jets). The birds I think I can remove. Not gonna try the jets… 😔 #Taiwan #FieldRecording

My son, an avid train photographer, found the same train that we took when he was little. He rode that train and apparently found the same seat we were sitting in before. Kinda fun.

I had a fun little three-day trip last week up north to record high speed rail pass-by’s and various station/platform/on-train ambiences. A funny thing happened…my wife “followed” me, station to station. Weird, huh?? #Fieldrecording #Taiwan

At first it’s slightly funny. It’s not long before it’s really annoying. My kid would keep up that speaking style for all our conversations. 🙄

Wait til he gets older and makes fun of how his classmates speak English.

One group I’m in has an ai that is now posting questions. I hate it. Why on earth would the mods turn on that feature. Makes me want to leave that group.

Not unless someone can bring some down for me.

I drove up to Alishan to record the Alishan Forest Railway trains for part of my Taiwan train sound library. It was a total success! Here's a lightly edited pass-by of a DL series diesel. I love the clanks & clunks of the cars. So much better sounding than the electrics. #fieldrecording

Further down the mountain, the newly built (many years ago) but never used bathroom is still around.

I haven’t been out to the old Terdreka Settlement (得樂的卡) in Maolin in a long while. The place looks decent. There’s also a new (to me) house built on a lower level that you can go inside. Nice day for a visit. #Taiwan

You know, I’d prob be the exact same way if I lived in an apartment. I barely want to walk out to the front door at times.

I take it you haven’t gotten into the uber eats/food panda game? Prob for the best. After a few drinks…you never know what’s going to turn up at your door. 😂

Took my new F6 out for a spin kinda deep into the mountains last night. I really don’t recommend cranking the headphone gain when it’s pitch black out there. A little 🐸 jumped in front of my mic stand and kg sounded like a bear was coming for me. 🤣 #FieldRecording

Hey, I’m curious, how frequent are the announcements on the light rail? I’m near the end of my large train recording project and still need to do the light rail. I was thinking to scrap this part of the project cuz it will be hard to record a clean pass-by in an urban environment.
