The PlayStation 2 is 26, and I already have a LucasArts thread about it:

It's a happy double anniversary for LucasArts, under the sign of the FPS.

Dark Forces is 31 years old.

Republic Commando is 21 years old.

[Thread] My LucasArts boxes

Miraculously, I was able to keep my old LucasArts PC game cartridges from my teenage years, three decades ago. I saved them in 2019 after 20 years in a dark, cold, poorly insulated garage. I can't say the same about most of my NES and SNES games. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Oh no, I still can't edit on Bsky, even though I wasn't talking about cartridges. I was thinking about the NES and messed up my introduction. πŸ‘Œ

23/ X-Wing Alliance (Totally Games/LucasArts, 1999)

For me, this (amazing) game marked the end of an era at LucasArts. SW was going to change, and so were SW games. But the PC era really came along at the perfect time for me.

A simple and effective formula. A Star Wars game that was bound to exist.

What an adventure. The game itself is great, and on top of that there are low-budget live-action sequences. The best of both worlds.

In my cowboy heart, there's RDR, and then there's Outlaws. A fun first-person shooter, but above all a story that grabbed me by the gut with its magnificent animated sequences and exceptional soundtrack. LucasArts quality πŸ‘Œ(now remastered)

A fun little game concept (by Hal Barwood, who directed the Rebel Assault 2 FMVs) for when you're bored. I also had Indiana Jones and His Desktop Adventures, but I no longer have the box.

Wonderful PC version. It was bold to undertake both a transmedia project and a game with several different game designs. Ambitious. In my opinion, it paid off.

12/ Star Wars: Making Magic (LucasArts, 1996)

It's not a game, but I can't forget it. A sort of interactive encyclopedia, with lore but also lots of behind-the-scenes images! A real treasure when we didn't quite have the Internet yet.

11/ Afterlife (LucasArts, 1996)

I loved Sim City, so a simulation game by LucasArts about heaven and hell was right up my alley. I had a great time playing it, even though I was perhaps too young to understand everything.

10/ Star Wars: Rebel Assault II (LucasArts, 1995)

The appeal of the game lies in its low-budget FMV sequences, which were the first new live-action scenes in the SW universe since Star Tours (waiting room videos) in 1986. It was fantastic for the young fan I was.

8/ The Dig (LucasArts, 1995)

A chaotic development for a game that has aged very well (thanks to the pixel art). A true sci-fi story (based on an idea by Spielberg for his Amazing Stories TV show) in the form of an adventure game. Still recommended!

7/ Star Wars: Dark Forces (LucasArts, 1995)

This game was a truly immersive experience. As with X-wing (and unlike Rebel Assault, which is more cinematic), you find yourself immersed in a galaxy far, far away. It was so fresh. That feeling never left me. A great success. (now remastered)

Those first three PC games made me a fan of LucasArts, so I played Sam & Max, which was hilarious and completely absurd. LucasArts still dared to create games that were out of the ordinary.

3/ Star Wars: Rebel Assault (LucasArts, 1993)

The third game from Christmas 1994 was astonishing, as it used the capabilities of CD-ROM to offer an incredibly cinematic interactive experience (for the time).

Thirty years later, it seems laughable, but it was just magnificent.
