My guess it has to do with the suspended fats and not being totally broken down and left in suspension

Sometimes the scale of a place is extremely hard to document, certainly one as large as Todai-Ji.Β Wide places demand wide angles.

A variety of textures from centuries old stone to a brand new leaf nearby a small waterfall beside a hilltop temple.Β Tight focus, deep worlds.

An HDR Experiment with three handheld shots - I'm not as happy with the results, but from a 5 ft look it dosn't look half bad.Β I don't like all the fringing, but experiments must be shown.

The Komokuten standing guard at the rear of Todai-Ji's great hall.
This was a very difficult photo to get as the hall is lit only by natural light so the inside is fairly dark in the corner far from open doors. I am very happy with this result.

It's wild how non uniform a building like this can get!Β From afar the building looks square and pretty uniform, but this photo taken at the entrance shows that the wood has shifted slightly over the centuries it has stood.

Late night shot at Senso-Ji trying to get a perfect 45 with all the elements.Β I love the heavy contrast this pulled.

Sensou-ji at night closed to viewing, but still open to pray.Β Waited between several passerby conducting prayers.Β For a quiet place at 2AM, it sure was busy.

6. First job working at an independent video rental store. That should date me pretty hard. Great job, I ran the place solo at 16 and closed up. I'm not sure I'd have the same trust in a 16 year old today.

The crazy thing is, I just told her hey show me getting off a plane and somehow Mery managed to put me on the wing of a tail-dragger with a sliding cockpit. I spent many hours turning wrenches on SNJ-2s and I have been in this exact spot so many times.
