yeah that was the Ancient Macedonian (Greek) symbol that the North "Macedonians" (Slavs) today are trying to appropriate to artificially construct a history for themselves (even though most of the lands of actual Macedonia are within Greece even today)

to me it seems like one is classified as "intelligent" in their mind, if that one can provide them with previously unheard information (so it's a very locally maximal evaluation) while also largely exhibiting socially-approved "rational" behaviors
