It sands to flatness, whatever bends or blue notes
It smooths to croony harmony, it works.

It works. It simplifies the subtle problem . . .”

This 1959 picture of my mom is from her Harlem modeling days. As a kid I used to see this photo on mom's dresser and it became one of my visual aids when writing the short "Frankie Five Hundred" for @evergreenreview.bsky.social evergreenreview.com/read/frankie...

The AI hype train is on the fast track towards technofeudalism. This is why I keep asking people to look out the window and show me something different.

Unfortunately enough people are along for the ride and don't care where we end up.

β€œWhy is AI helping me write a song or tell a story? I don't want it to breathe or fuck for me; I want it to solve cancer. Why is it coming after the stuff that we essentially need to do to be human beings?” - Gore Verbinski

The thing that really sucks here is that it doesn't just waste our time (especially if we see a pitch that looks intriguing and it turns out to be trash). It makes organizations stop doing open calls, which cuts actual writers, especially early career ones, out of opportunities.

11.02.2026 16:24 πŸ‘ 40 πŸ” 2 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Every organization I work with, including The Flytrap, has noticed this every time we put out an open call for pitches and it gets picked up in an opportunities newsletter, just a deluge of AI slop we have to wade through.

Walz demands DHS stop detaining Minnesota children In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Walz demanded details about how many Minnesota kids are in detention facilities.

They’re taking children from Minnesota and locking them up like criminals in detention camps in Texas.

For the love of God, send our kids home and bring an end to this nightmare.

Again, this is FALSE. Administrative warrants are NOT signed by an immigration judge (or any judge at all). They are generated and signed by ICE officers themselves with no external oversight whatsoever.

Here is a blank sample warrant. Note who signs off on it; an "immigration officer."

Imagine seeing this and thinking, after Renee Good and Alex Pretti, that what ICE needs is more funding for surveillance equipment like body cams.

ABOLISH IS THE FLOOR.

Until 9/11, you could cross into Canada from Detroit with a driver's license. You're supposed to show your birth certificate or passport, but 9 times out of 10, they'd wave you through.

9/11 and the Bush admin's "War on Terror" changed everything. Can't remember the last time I've been to Windsor.

The far-left network that helped put Alex Pretti in harm's way, then made him a martyr Encrypted chats show activists tracked ICE agents using a sophisticated database before the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. They then used it to mobilize agitators.

If you haven't been reading Fox News, take a peek at how they are spinning the death of Alex Pretti and the general turn-out of Minnesotans. It's all a Marxist-Leninist, socialist network. www.foxnews.com/politics/far...

What is Trump Really Threatening with the Insurrection Act? Following another shooting, Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act, calling legal protestors "professional agitators and insurrectionists," but what can we really expect?

Reminder that the Trump administration is purposely employing these brutal tactics to inflame tensions in Minneapolis to test out how far the Courts will let them go in usurping state power before the next Midterm election.

I wrote about it here: shero.substack.com/p/what-is-tr...
