Ich habe das Gefühl, Mustererkennung als blackbox ist extrem anfällig für magical thinking. Das Ding erkennt Muster, also müssen es auch bedeutungsvolle oder relevante Muster sein, also verlasse ich mich darauf.

Um auf deine Frage zurückzukommen: mein Eindruck ist, die Hoffnung auf Revolution kommt aus einem bestimmten Ethikverständnis. Nur einer handvoll Menschen zu helfen reicht nicht. Aber wenn ich mich etwas anschließe, das allen, systematisch hilft, that's where it's at. Totalität vor Plausibilität.

Ja, das kommt erschwerend hinzu.

Ich wollte mehr darauf hinaus, dass man am Ende den eigenen Werten nicht gerecht wird, weil man in dieser Hoffnung gefangen bleibt.

Ich bin mir nicht sicher, habe aber öfter Leute beobachtet, für die die Revolution ein Jenseitscharakter hat, ohne dass ich jetzt ein 1:1 Vergleich aufmachen wollte. Religion hat sicherlich viele andere Wirkungen auf Menschen. Sowohl gute als auch weniger gute.

Der trade-off: Der Mensch vor mir, also das Unmittelbare, ist nur einer. Man gibt sich hier mit "etwas Kleinem" zufrieden. Es ist also teilweise ein Demutsproblem. Wie klein sind wir, wenn das alles ist, worauf wir hoffen können? Aber ist es nicht trauriger, eben diesen einen Menschen zu verpassen?
