Looks like USYS and US Club just merged their top leagues into one system...
Does anyone have this document that was reviewed at the USSF AGM?
Yes. I agree... lots of different ways it can go.
I agree that they are going to try to sell as many as rhey can before 2028. Might be a moot point of a question. They might sell out. Only need 40 total 1st and 2nd Division teams... already have what 25? 26? teams for 2027... supposedly 5 or so unannounced teams. Only need 10 more in 2 years.
Eventually theyll not be able to take them for the top 2 divisions just because theyll be full.
Do they wait until they are full to stop, do they stop when they start promoting, do they accept expansions and hold off promotions until they sell all the spots?
Lots of options.
Its been reported that League 1 is several million. League 2 is 50k.
I love it too.
These are dope
The Cosmos just introduced their 2026 secondary kit and it's ๐ฅ

Also: We correctly leaked the kit last week ๐
@battista.bsky.social has the story here HAS GALLERY
That isnt apple to apples.
The comparison is USL v MLS.... it is 3rd/2nd and 1st... not a second 2nd Division.
So they could skip the "you have to win your way up" part of the pyramid
Also, final thing...
It makes a bunch of sense to me to ONLY do promotions the first year, maybe even 2 years.
I think a question that is an interesting one for the near future...
When does USL only allow teams to join in League 1?
Another good discussion.
Few things...
1. Actual D1 sanctioning matters.
2. I think they are correct. This does sound far more "real" than lots of the USL media releases.
3. I think we see promotion playoffs in the 2nd and 3rd divisions.
I disagree with the statement that actual D1 sanctioning doesnt mean anything in practice.
IMO, it is what makes this work.
Do you think I don't know WV the reddest state in the US?
I feel you.
we said all along that they wanted Gawker dead not because we embarrassed a pro wrestler but because the Epstein story is one Gawker was covering a decade before most other people caught up & was just one of many stories exposing powerful people and their misdeeds
Being honest... it is VERY hard to continue to support US Soccer's national teams just because of how they have tied themselves to Trump in the past, how FIFA has also... I know a few of the players are outspoken against him but you know it is just damn hard.
If you engage with my posts with what you WISH I was saying so you can argue against points or positions I am not making.
I just block you.
I don't have time for that bullshit.
Rewarded by removing the roadblocks that were created to protect MLS.
Yes, I see what's going on.
I think USL would be CRAZY to not just do promotions from year one until the divisions are full.
They have to engage the part of this that makes it different right away.
Good discussion.
IMO, the PLS will be changed. There is no way USSF will risk another lawsuit to stop this.
Frankly, USL is a better partner for US Soccer than MLS is now (eg: Open Cup) and I think they will be rewarded for that.

To all my friends in Minneapolis, Maine, and around the country. Charleston West Virginia is on your side.
Why did NPSL think starting competing regional leagues was the appropriate next step for them to take?

I ask this question because the entire industry is built around kids going to college afterwards. That is the goal of the process.
What about kids who don't want college?
What is the point of "high level" club soccer for kids in the US who don't plan on going to college?
Kids who want to enter trade school and other post HS option.
Now today US Youth Soccer signs a Letter of Intent with @ussoccer.com to explore making the same arrangement US Club Soccer had with USSF.
Wiiiiiiiiiild changes to the youth landscape in the US right now.
Don't be afraid to change your mind when given new information.
