This is an ongoing conversation in An Impossible Dream, especially. Henry is very much prone to dreaming. It's a huge part of his personality and protects him. Whereas, for Sare it is the opposite. For her, dreaming is dangerous.

I feel like overall stubbornness is often given a negative depiction or connotation. More often than not I hear it as a criticism rather than a compliment. It's often portrayed, from what I've seen, as something bad rather than a strength 5/6

When put in a new environment, old survival techniques don't always work and what served a character in the past doesn't necessarily serve them in the present. 4/6

However, I find this to be accurate not just of stubbornness as survival, but most survival techniques. Another character, for instance, tends to lie and it stems from something similar. 3/6

Namely, through trying to endure the hazing in her first year and her downward spiral in the third year.

And, there are times it can make her butt heads with some other stubborn characters. Hayworth can be just as stubborn as her, which both fully recognize. 2/6

It absolutely can make it challenging for the characters themselves and the people around them. Sare, for instance, is probably one my most stubborn characters. Readers have pointed out moments where they feel she made things harder on herself than need be through her sheer stubbornness. 1/6

Sasha and Galen aren’t really, but I have another character who is!

Fionn, from my WIP Guardian of the Sky, loves to daydream. When he was young, he would daydream about meeting and befriending a dragon like his grandmother did! Now that he’s grown, he mostly dreams of a (1/2)

Ray mostly thinks about how things will go wrong. It happens to her enough that she has trouble resisting the urge to think of worst case scenarios.

Her dreams are usually nightmares.

It's why she works so hard to control and protect. To prevent what she fears will come.

some of it is worrying and stressing about what could go wrong.

Fox is usually pretty practical and focused. She likes turning puzzles over in her head and planning for the future, but rarely daydreams in that way. She is, however, quite imaginative in her puzzle solutions and problem solving.

Av'ry is something of a daydreamer. Even when he was young he often dreamed of the life he wanted. These started as pleasant dreams that eventually warped into revenge fantasies that started his life of crime.

He still dreams about pleasant futures now, though the stress of life means

Ray would probably be mostly sarcastic and resigned about the whole thing. She is hard to rattle.

I can see her making sardonic, Deadpool-style complaints about her situation directly to the audience and asking me for concessions when she felt things were too unfair.

She might even enjoy it 😂

Helena is fairly stoic, so when Kia makes her laugh, the dam breaks.

Second is actually a bad example and extremely rough.🤦‍♀️
It looks barely there from the snip and turns on a dime, but Charlie is a generally fun-natured person, so she's often laughing, and this wasn't sarcasm.

Fox and Mikiva bond a little after a tense moment. Av'ry is also there! 😂

Ashrah prefers to take in the environment and the beauty around her rather than spend time taking photos, let alone of herself.

However, she married a nensii who does love taking pictures, so dodging photos isn't always an option.

She never smiles, though. She's a very serious demon!

She has also mentioned that you are not to escort the conductor and kaelin alone without an escort of your own.” “What? The hell kinda sense does that make?” Reuben protested. “Is it because of that one time I set fire to the food hall?” Wasn’t he a water dragon? In a city made of white marble, a notoriously non-flammable substance?

“Ain’t that much different than keepin’ Sanctuary a secret,” Reuben whined. “What’re y’all so afraid of, anyway? No offense to His Radiance, but does he look like the type of guy to be thinkin’ trouble’s a fine idea?” All eyes turned to Mick, who pinned back his ears and sank further into the now-soapy water. “You may have a point,” Ruth said as she turned her head to Reuben. Oh, wow.

Two things I like about this chapter:
1. It's a lighter chapter than we've had lately, which means more banter and humor, which means it's *fun*.
2. Reuben.
