ICE has arrested and detained a Nashville journalist who reported stories critical of ICE. She’s married to a U.S. citizen and has been seeking asylum here after fleeing death threats in Colombia because of her journalism there.
They’ve already sent her to Louisiana.
Speaking of the blues, I saw bluesman Keb' Mo' in Troy, NY, last night.
Great concert and Guy telling Reuters that his aim is to “make somebody smile” reminded me of Mo's upbeat and rollicking performance, which left everybody feeling good.

People were right to be upset at evacuation chaos from Kabul under Joe Biden. Now US citizens across the gulf are stranded as a result of a war Trump started and those voices are where exactly?

I hope they asked very nicely and make sure to say than you and be appropriately grateful: I’m told these things are very very important.
Joe Biden did it
"One shouldn’t exaggerate the economic fallout from this war. But it isn’t occurring in isolation: There are many stresses on our economy, and this could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back — a straw that becomes heavier the longer the war goes on."

Swung by a "food farmacy" this morning to learn more about how it helps low-income people with ongoing medical issues eat better by providing fresh vegetables, access to a dietitian and guidance on preparing healthy meals. I liked this poster showcasing meals made by the farmacy's clients.
Enjoyed a rollicking night of music with the great bluesman Keb' Mo' at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
I wasn't super familiar with his work, but his musicianship and crack band made it easy to appreciate. His song "This is My Home," about immigrants in the U.S., brought the crowd to its feet.
Remarkable spread of Iran war in days. You now have attacks not just in the Gulf & Israel, but also Cyprus & Turkey in the west & off Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean in the east. Had an Iranian missile struck Turkey today, there is a good chance that Article Five would be invoked by allies.
When I was a kid, I read this pocket comic about the life of Martin Luther King. It made quite an impression, so I grabbed a copy on ebay for my son to read during Black History Month. He likes graphic novels, and he liked this a lot.

The irony that Bush's failed war of choice built on lies led to the backlash that allowed Trump to take over the GOP and the country has brought us to another war of choice built on lies but even more reckless and without even an attempt to justify the lies.
CNN: More than 1,000 civilians killed in Iran since war began, rights group reports By Helen Regan More than 1,000 people, including children, have been killed in Iran since the war began on Saturday, according to US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA). The rights group said as of Tuesday afternoon ET, at least 1,097 civilians had been killed, including 181 children. This cartoonishly childish Hegseth persona is an insult to the American military, the American people, the Iranian people, and just about everybody affected by this war. It is absolutely incredible, in the literal sense, that this man is at the hinge of the chain of command in this spiraling war.
There's been a lot of debate within the Democratic establishment about what rhetoric to use via ICE.
Well, an incumbent doesn't lose by 48 percentage points very often—and her vote on collaborating with ICE was the defining issue here.
