I got so emotionally invested in the characters. I wanted to see them happy and was scared when they were put in danger. Some tears may have been spilled, both from happiness and fear.
A.A. Gordon has become one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
5/6
Nell is super fiesty and has a past that makes her defensive and untrustworthy of kindness. She came across as a bit of a spoiled brat at first but she grew on me as I learned more about her.
4/6
Ornella (Nell), a Summer Court dryad, is captured and becomes part of the Autumn Court's Wild Hunt. She is trained by Sage but is not fully trusted. Amira, a witch from the human world, is saved by Nell and later befriends a griffin who has a secret.

Thank you A.A. Gordon and Rattle the Stars PR for the review copy.
This book sucked me right in with the rich world building and indepth characters.
The story is developed through multiple POVs, worlds, and timelines.

Love that there are text messages in the book. The ones between Winona and Mitchell had me giggling and kicking my feet.
Interested to read the other books in the Heartbreaker Trades series when they are released.
4/4
The banter, tension, and yearning between them is so good. You see them fall in love through dual PoVs. Winona will take no guff from anyone especially Mitchell. Mitchell will do anything to make Winona feel safe and happy.
3/4
While the first part was a bit obsessive and stalkery (mentioned in the trigger warnings) Winona and Mitchell become the sweetest couple. They both come from abusive and painful pasts and they deserve their happy ending.

I was surprised by the last chapter, didn't see it coming and need to find out what happens in the next book.
Thank you Simon & Schuster Canada and Netgalley for the ARC.

If you think Violet's lightning strikes in Fourth Wing are exciting just wait until you read what happens when Arabella and Kazimir get together. Wowster!
It was a bit slow in parts but I enjoyed the story overall.
3/4
This book is compared to Assistant to the Villian but spicier. I haven't read that book but it did give me a bit of Despicable Me vibes at the beginning with Kazimir's discussion with hid minions about finding a wife.
The chapter titles were definitely a highlight and made me giggle.

Kazimir needs a wife with hero blood to activate a powerful heirloom so what else is a Dark Lord to do but kidnap one of course.

The books ends on a cliffhanger and you bet I will be reading book 2 to find out what happens.
3/3
The book is told through dual PoVs which I enjoyed. The banter and tension between Trew and Isi had me laughing, giggling, and my heart fluttering. Trew falls hard first. Isi feels an attraction as well but is focused on finding out what happened to her sister and the missing children.
