Uh-oh! Had Ben realized Johnny had the hots for a g-g-g-ghost, he would have scared himself.
Uh-oh! Had Ben realized Johnny had the hots for a g-g-g-ghost, he would have scared himself.
Is that Johnny who's talking about The Spiral, and, even if it's not him, is that a reference to another comic?
Uhhh.
Reed means well, but I'm not sure Ben will like to be reminded he's several classes lower than The Hulk in the brute strength department.
I love lettering.
We're saying goodbye to Salvador Larroca who's been on the book since #4.
Fantastic Four #34 (1998)
This feels like a Glactus plot they had to shift just a little.
When has Johnny faced other were-creatures?
And little, quiet moments like this remind us Ben and Reed go way back. Again: show, don't tell.
This one conversation between Sue, Johnny, and even Ben does more to show the FF as a family than Claremont's entire run did by telling us they're a family.
Fantastic Four #33 (1998)
She's 13, folks.
Gawd I hate Dorma's motivation.
This annual bridges the gap between the end of Claremont's run and what comes next, practically hand-waving all of the Baroness von Doom stuff.
Fantastic Four Annual 2000
This is also Fantastic Four Annual #30.
I sourced the missing page (#9) from an official Marvel CD-ROM (remember those?) I once purchased, which has a then-complete collection of Fantastic Four comics.
This page explains how The Hellfire Club became involved in the story.
Again: Ben hates spooky things.
Is this the first time the Air, Wind, Fire, Earth comparison has been made to the powers of the Fantastic Four?
HA HA HA! Nice!
Sue was turned into a frog, which Reed kissed on the ass. This caused Sue to reappear in her human form and, apparently, wanting more of that.
Ben don't do spooky, but he knows you have to help people despite your fears.
Johnny's right.
I wish Claremont gave us more Sue / Johnny moments throughout his run.
Claremont put in the work to make us all realize Ben is a brilliant guy too.
Remember, Mephisto has previously abducted Franklin, so that might be why he saw Blackheart when no one else could.
Ladronn's Kirby-influenced style never fails to amaze.
Fantastic Four Annual 1999
This is also Fantastic Four Annual #29.
The issue itself is from very early 2000. The (1998) means the year the comic was first published. It stands in for Volume 3 or v3.
Does anyone have a physical or digital copy of Fantastic Four Annual 1999 (aka Annual #29)?
If so, can you please send me a picture / screen capture of Page 9. (It would fit between the two pages shown.)
My copy is missing the page.
