The, more or less, completed build of a 486 DX2 66 retro gaming PC. This is the era I did most of my gaming in as a teen. Will be posting some YouTube videos on the build soon.

The fuck you mean? Put the money in the bag.
There was an attempt. Screenshot of a generated image of a Dreamcast with glaring mistakes regarding how the optical drive is implemented within the shell housing. Taken from AliExpress.
Can't quite fathom why, but something tells me that so-called "AI" may have been used in the doctoring of this image of a SEGA Dreamcast.
Certainly an interesting choice of optical drive assembly.

If you like something, like the hell out of it. Don't let others force you to feel otherwise.
Speaking personally, I'm a guy whose job is daily news, which includes war, crime, death, etc.
I don't care who you are! I deserve to enjoy a stupid video game, or cartoon, or plushie, or what have you!
The Michelangelo virus gave a big scare in March 1992, arguably the first of its kind. But since viruses had fewer ways to spread in 1992 than today, it didn't have the expected impact. I understood the risks, and was defiant. #retrocomputing #vintagecomputing dfarq.homeip.net/remembering-...
I know people are concerned about some things in this article like Gemini encouraging the man to go to actual real world locations to commit mass violence and giving instructions for how to kill himself, but you have to consider: Google said Gemini is designed not to do that and βpobodyβs nerfectβ

Let me get this straight, she don't blame the USA administration that wage that war, she is happy that some unrelated country get bombed?
BTW. I, wasn't that, the war justified with fake mass destruction weapons?
Iran and Iraq have similar names but they're completely different countries with completely different languages, culture and history.
Americans have been hostile to or at war with them for decades and theee illiterates still can't tell which is which.
that feeling when you've been drawing on the wrong layer
I explained as good as I could that it was inexcusable to send to computer shops CPUs with stickers placed on the core, that this will increase the RMAs and damage CPUs and motherboards from excessive heat and I got a positive reaction... it didn't last that long, in the A64 days they started again.
When i came to Spain from Venezuela in 2003 I worked for a couple years at an small computer shop and it was super common to receive CPUs from wholesale distributors with this kind of stickers, I talked with the boss and he told me he couldn't do anything about it and I asked to talk to the sellers.

Wow Its been awhile since I visited the crowdsupply webpage, damn sir that is an awesome amount of preorders!
I can't believe such a tiny amount of base units.
Currently helping an elderly family friend figure out if an email is a scam (which it obviously is) and hey, people who make mobile email apps, it's a dark pattern to not make the email address of the sender visible without needing to click on the little arrow thing.
Just thought you should know.
Oh, hello Ian, one question: Do you think if people get the basic version, they might be able to upgrade to the full-featured one with some sort of kit in the future? I watched Phils's, Clint's and Ress's videos and I think I didn't got that point across.
Thanks and best regards!
As the #PicoIDE campaign on Crowd Supply enters its final hours (www.crowdsupply.com/polpotronics...), @ctrl-alt-rees.com has come out with a fantastic video all about the PicoIDE! And wow it looks good in that baby AT case. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG_t...
So I guess weβre on track for the arrival of the Vulcans in 37 years.
Yep, it was also common to find CPUs with a full tube / bag of the thermal paste that was included with the heatsink all smeared above the Die, PCB and the stickers!
To be fair, this isnβt really a war, itβs a [waves hands] operation, run by the Department ofβ¦wait Iβll come back in and start over
A 2000s Socket 370 Pentium III CPU showing several distributor paper stickers warranty info, one of the sticker placed above the delicate exposed core, inducing unnecessarily high operating temperature.
This always have triggered me so hard!
I wonder if someone have even encounter the modern equivalent of this level of mass ignorance in the handling of delicate and expensive hardware?
Hell yeah!!!
Benny Urquidez was a BEAST!
Rewatch complete of Sammo Hungβs action/comedy classic. The three brothers chemistry is unequalled. The humor works while the action and stunt work are amazing. The finale is an all timer with JC vs Urquidez as one of the greatest fights captured on film. Absolutely jaw dropping!
A DX2 50 with a little bit more RAM, higher HDD capacity or a Sound card would had been a better machine for a lot of us than an striped down DX2 66.
Cool trip down to the 90s. I always wanted a DX2 66 but never got to own one back then. I remember exactly what you said here; the DX2 50 was indeed an excellent midrange choice. Not until it was relegated to the bargain bin someone with some sense would have considered it a low-end CPU!
