+1, I always enjoy Dagstuhl, Lorentz and informal workshops the most. It's a pity that too many people are pushed towards the big conferences, for whatever stupid reasons. I mean, happy for those who enjoy the big ones, but I certainly prefer the more focused events, ideally w/o proceedings

Point sets of low discrepancy are useful in a number of applications. Essentially, wherever you use Sobol sampling, you could replace by more specifically optimized sets. We have tons of ideas for how to improve further, using classic optimization, learning, heuristics. Happy to collaborate :-)
