Maybe a stock tank pool? Not mine - just an image off Pinterest (pin.it/7xcymEEDL).
I'm struggling with forgetting to run expo prebuild after a native dependency is added. Maybe y'all could add an option to enable running prebuild whenever it is detected that the fingerprint has changed. That way it could not just rebuilt the app but also run prebuild before hand. That's all. 🙏

#AppjsConf #ReactNative
Heading over to old town as well.
Tried @graze.social to track App.js Conf updates and I'm impressed by how intuitive the custom feed setup is! The keyword and post-type filtering work like magic. Perfect for staying on top of conference buzz. Can't wait to see everyone at #appjsconf! 🚀
A simple dashboard design for a guestlist management product.
After testing various AI design tools over the past year—including Figma's latest AI features—Google's Stitch finally blew me away. It generated a clean, modern dashboard from just one initial prompt and five follow-ups. The results are genuinely impressive. 🎨✨
This is really cool. Congrats on the first release! No issues install it. Maybe add a crumpling sound when trash can is clicked...?
I would be curious to learn what sent you down the path of building Legend List. And also if you or others have encountered cases for which it is not good to use (yet). Looking forward to your talk! See you in Kraków.
Big shoutout for the livestream on protected routes — seriously cool stuff. I almost missed it while skimming the SDK 53 release notes, but it’s a gem. If you haven’t caught the video yet, definitely give it a watch.
A screenshot showing a tweet about shared element transition for react native
Glad I saw a mention of @bbloniarz.bsky.social's tweet about shared element transitions in @galaxies.dev newsletter. 🪄 💫 🚀
It shows the command: du -h -d10 -t2G 2>/dev/null
My Mac was running out of space and I discovered this little command. It finds all folders that are larger than 2G and only displays folders that you can access.
I found a bunch of old Android SDKs, iOS simulators and a few other large files / folders that could be deleted.
A code snippet showing how the html head's icon is set for dark and light mode.
Well...it works but maybe having a light and dark mode favicon is against best practices? Or I'm doing it wrong but I could only figure how to set one in the app.json for Expo to export the favicon.ico for web (to be used with EAS hosting). #reactnative
Laptop and drinking cup on table, in the background a bayou and someone putting a boat in the water
Wishing I was still hacking from a bayou somewhere in Louisiana instead of an indoor standing desk. Those days last week were fun.
So good! 😙🤌
Exception: "Your macOS system limit does not allow enough watchers for Metro, install Watchman instead. Learn more: facebook.github.io/watchman/doc... Error: EMFILE: too many open files, watch"
Solution: "rm -rf node_modules" 🤣
She will only dictating her changes and won't require any knowledge of git to put up PRs. But I guess it's good to understand the fundamentals.
This year, for Giving Tuesday, I supported NOLA_CODE, a nonprofit empowering underserved youth in Nola through tech education. It’s a cause I deeply care about, and I’d love for you to join me in making a difference. Even a few dollars can help them reach their goal! nolacode.org/unlock-nolas... 🙏
It's that native feel! But...
Restoring scroll is not free or a native feature (at least not afaik on Android). Personally it works for me on Bluesky fwiw.
Icons are generally a design choice and same across mobile/web. Seems almost impossible to match the OS theme icons in an app.
Yes. It will be awesome when these are available in more cities.
Like a logic bug. I guess we always have the migration files in git so we can use those for audit. Right now it's only two of us making changes so it's not a big deal. Maybe I haven't found it in supabase but some audit trail on each RLS to view a history could be useful. And yes, AI is knows SQL!
RLS is still new to me but I find it great to work with and efficient. Have you found a good way to monitor changes to catch incorrect or unintentionally changes?
Finally it's time to head to @reactnativelondon.co.uk! Looking forward to lots of learning and connecting with others in the #reactnative community.
In the main apps, we did from like 2017/18 to early 2023 as a brownfield integration. On my team (twotwenty.pinterest.com) we have used it to built two standalone apps - one for creators to livestream Pinterest TV shows and one that didn't go past initial market experiment. No active usage atm.
A screenshot showing the users of a list.
That there aren't follow/unfollow buttons on the users of a list like there are on starter packs. Perhaps a feature or as intended. But I thought they were there before I pinned it - fussy memory though.
Oh hey! It will be nice to meet again.
Any particular pros/reasons that made you choose Nativewind this time?
There really isn't an excuse anymore for an app not to embrace edge to edge and use all that vertical real estate (esp on Android).
Thanks for creating this lib! 🤘🚀
What did you pick for styling? Tamagui, NativeWind or something else?
