Naked Apple Pie. Basically like an apple pie with no top.

Good to know for future reference. Probably gonna stick with tried-and-true Naked Apple Pie recipe.

I think the manila folder full of random hardcopy recipes that I've had forever is going to become invaluable in the years to come.

You can see my dilemma: You don't know what you don't know.

I've never made a pie before. I won't be able to say "hey, that doesn't sound right," because I have no prior experience in doing the thing that would clue me in that something's off.

Except how do you know what's obviously AI?

I am reminded of a panel on "Information and Disinformation on the Web" that I attended at a Furry con decades ago where one of the takeaways was "a webpage full of truth and a webpage full of lies look exactly the same."

I have to bake a pie for work next week (I have never baked a pie before) and I am terrified of looking up recipes on the internet at this point. It's almost become a non-starter.

I think at this point I'm gonna play it safe and go with Rigel's mom's recipe for Naked Apple Pie.

Bought a house

Memory unlocked: I know I'm better organized these days (I'm still terribly disorganized, but better!) because I remembered back in the old days I would periodically have "paper avalanches" because of all the papers I would stack on top of each other (mainly caused by slick, non-8.5"x11" papers).

Our street is also narrower than required, because it's a private road and not town maintained.

Rumor has it that the builder found a loophole in the town planning requirements that allowed them to cram in more single family homes than allowed: the houses are [allegedly] connected by a foundation below grade. The shared foundation apparently defines them as "townhouse" vs "single family home."

Pro: We have a Really Fuckin' Nice Place.

Con: It's a bottomless pit that we throw money into.

Full disclosure: We own our place free and clear, but yes, there is always, ALWAYS, something that needs fixing/upgrading because our builder bullt these using cheapest most basic materials they could. Since we've lived here we've upgraded our deck, windows, insulation, HVAC, and there's more to do.
