Exactly, and I think sometimes it happened in the evening, so it was called ‘Speech night’ but perhaps in your case it was during the day?

Each book has a neat printed slip detailing which school it belongs to. I found the one from my kid - plus 7 more from our school - and returned them all to today.
I love libraries and librarians.
I accidentally returned my kid’s school library book to the local library back in September. Realised 3 months later and went in to the local on the unlikely chance that they still had it. Friends, of course they had it. In fact they had a tidy box of books from several local schools.
