I also really like the true ending because the union of the two Hinakos, as well as Kotoyuki assisting Hinako, shows that overcoming these patriarchal institutions can not be done by any singular woman. You have to work together.

That's why in ending 3, rejecting the wedding means the Tsukumogami wins and Ebisugaoka is destroyed.

In the true ending, (IMO) fighting the gods is representative of overcoming Kotoyukis patriarchal relatives, but in the supernatural realm it is -literally- Hinako claiming back her mind.

through Hinako marrying into the Tsuneki family (she's the prophesied girl born with divine blood), the wrath of the Water Dragon beneath Ebisugaoka is quelled, which is the fox gods mission. The Tsukumogami on the other hand wants Ebisugaoka destroyed for abandoning their old beliefs.

this thread is really good! to add to this: the reason why the events of the game take place at all is because of the two gods fighting a war using Hinako's mind, the fox god representing the Inari faith and the Tsukumogami representing the abandoned divine tree faith.
