So, “no friends but the mountains “ is reflective of the within as well.
There was an article that at least one group is now armed. I’ll post the link shortly.
It’s too early to judge anyone’s response. And I genuinely believe the diaspora’s influence (if any) has been limited and very recent at best.
The point is, this war was probably not something Iranians actively wanted or welcomed, but for many it felt like the last means to an end.
Since the wars in the ME began, there’s been a constant sense that a US strike on Iran is imminent.
Iranian diaspora largely aligned with that expectation. The feeling intensified with every crackdown back home and with the rising number of people fortunate enough to leave the country in waves.
What are the points they’re missing then? What are the field realities?
Is it that Kurds will not consider getting armed because of their ties to their Iranian heritage?
Just to add, the DOW redirected the issue to the CIA meaning somebody must have done their footwork.
I wished my research material could have rage baited me into writing my dissertation at this rate.
But even then - what’s the point?
Just saw my earlier post about being angry and writing!? Didn’t know I did that.
Now I’m just exhausted and the mind is still racing, reviewing material, revisiting reasonings, thinking “maybe I am wrong.”
I’ve lost an entire day foolishly falling for rage baits.
Lost not in terms of the time spent in arguing but that I have no recollection of the time that’s passed.
I went to work, was at work for 8 hours, completed tasks, talked to clients & coworkers, returned home - none were mindful actions.
War with Iran “all part of God’s plan to bring about Armageddon”
There’s a whole literature on this. Does anything matter at all if we’re just falling for the same old tricks?
I have questions about this, not because I disagree but because I genuinely want to know.
Looks like it’s a real concern for many for several reasons.
Your take was unique.
I thought I am more resilient this time.
That I could redirect the anger and frustration into writing instead of useless arguments with people who are not there for conversation but to wear you down.
Wished I could avoid contact, cut ties.
How can I leave my family & friends behind though?
I thought Israel had a strong program for Iranian Studies. Why do you think there’s an issue of unfamiliarity?
Hate to have his ugly evil face on my page, but LOL!
Puny god of assholes, piece of shit. World is a better place with you dead. Hope you suffered. Hope there’s a hell and you rot in it.

I absolutely love speaking “manly” in Farsi.
While it feels simply organic to speak with a deeper voice in English. I also may not be registering the nuances and have a gay accent-I don’t know!
But taking Farsi back and talking in the way that was deemed not suitable for me is pure joy.
They won't start with banning birth control. First they'll lie about it. Then dictate who can prescribe it, use it, fund it, in what forms, and for how long. Suddenly, your doctor won't call you back. I know this is what they'll do because it's what they're doing to transgender healthcare right now.

When oligarchs talk of “personal liberties and free markets” they mean their own liberties to become even richer and more powerful.
When oligarchs speak of “freedom,” what they actually seek is freedom from accountability.
Know the truth.

Writing a book isn't about competition, it isn't about winning or getting rich, it's about sitting down with your fucked-up thoughts and weird ideas and putting them on paper to traumatize people who read them. AI will never get that part right.
Just realized my ‘short’ break from academia is getting uncomfortably long.
I want to get back to research but only on new shiny ideas. That’s what my ADHD brain is telling me.
Should I trust the process?
