Today I learned that #rstats 📦 `tidygeocoder` is super useful for pulling lat/long coordinates and that plotting a world map that centres the pacific is quite annoying. Shout out to @freerangestats.info for useful blog posts.

This map shows New Zealand's Great Walks and their 2023-2024 visitor numbers using colored dots of different sizes. Key Finding: The Abel Tasman Coast Track (large red dot in northern South Island, around 41°S) had the most visitors with over 14,000 people. Other Notable Tracks: Routeburn and Kepler tracks (medium red dots in southwestern Fiordland region, around 42-45°S) each had 6,000-7,000 visitors Several smaller tracks with lower visitor numbers are scattered across both islands Legend: Dot colors indicate track type: red = one way, cyan = loop track, dark teal = river journey Dot sizes show visitor levels: small = 0-5k, medium = 5-10k, large = >10k Note: Visitor data for Hump Ridge and Lake Waikaremoana tracks were unavailable.
