Well the comment I replied to was suggesting it’s all viral. I disagree with that beyond possible reactivation. The constant refusal to properly research cohorts that report other triggers is a failure which needs to be addressed.
Also possible it’s multiple causes, including autoimmune. Much more research required. One benefit of covid is that finally these conditions seem to be being taken seriously.
Possible, but on the basis that the immune shock causes opportune reactivation of latent viruses. Some develop ME following vaccination (And stress, overtraining, trauma etc.)

This isn’t a new thing though is it? Maybe the current crop are being more brazen, but the media has always espoused the opinions of its owners/supporters. Murdoch has been doing it for decades.

PASCV would have been a useful cohort in this study.
Not just respiritory and not just viruses. I’m in the MECFS boat following my covid vaccine. I had all the symptoms @mathlover.bsky.social lists. They are all seen in ME. Initial illness does not need to be outwardly severe. Many with mild infections come down in the weeks after ‘recovery’.
OH and of course they note those that improve following vaccination, but ignore those that get worse. Disappointing given the number of ME patients that report deterioration following vaccination.
Often seems to be the same results endlessly repeated but nobody ever seems to take the next steps. How many studies show immune activation now?
The result shows Labour weren’t a distant 3rd though. Wouldn’t have taken much of a swing for them to win it anyway. Hopefully Labour sort themselves out properly for the next GE.

Labour definitely need to improve decisions and communication.
A Reform or Green government would be economically disastrous for the UK, similar to the Truss budget.

NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya says patients with ME/CFS, long COVID, vaccine injury and chronic Lyme are often gaslit and told their symptoms are psychological, making them feel crazy. He’s told NIH staff he wants to invest in finding real answers for these conditions.
Bannon, Epstein, Trump, Farage, Putin all seem to have remarkably similar aims. Sure it’s just a coincidence and nothing to be concerned about.

I don’t think that position would win a referendum. Not even close. But there does need to be more debate about closer relations with the EU. It remains a monumentally stupid decision to leave, more so when you consider the deal we had.
Should definitely be more discussion about it. 💯
The problem is that rejoining on our previous terms is very likely off the table as far as the EU is concerned. And it’s very unlikely that UK would vote to rejoin without those same terms being applied. Joining single market or free trade agreement are probably best hope.
Same with other post “viral” illnesses - ME, POTS, Dysautonomia etc. can be triggered by any immune stimulus including vaccines, stress and overtraining. At least one type of ME appears to be autoimmune. This nasal vaccine could be amazing, but also cause issues for some people. Just like vaccines
