I attribute some info to Lost and the Damned in the outro to this. It actually came from the document that Rick Priestly wrote for the warhammer authors

Me and @nicoleteburbach.bsky.social played it at Bring Out Your Lead last year and had a great time- its quite cinematic and strategic...But it takes ages and you cannot imagine a worse bridging games between MBs Space Crusade and wargaming proper.

I made an image for the poster for this Norse Myths play im doing and a student made an image too and i like both so we're going to run a radically wide ranging advertising campaign that stretches from "horse skull in cloth that might be landscape" to "fey manga inflected Ymir"

Post saying- does anyone else think its super weird to be calling children adults? Referring to anyone under the age of 18 as a "young adult" sounds a lot like saying "underage woman". Maybe if we didnt market things to 12 year olds by calling them adults, we wouldn't have people thinking stuff like this is okay?

Someone saying "exactly mu point. Why can't it be called teen fiction? And then young adult is like 18-26

I see we're trying to make the term Young Adult (as in fiction) problematic with a side of "young adult" should be books for 18-26 year olds....

You could have done a PhD on James Joyce by the time you're 26.

This is all to do with people saying a young adult book has necrophilia in it.

The Taiping Rebellion shows both the strengths of the Gaokao (anyone from around the country can partake and succeed) and the weaknesses (it can't test for soft skills, like having the interpersonal charisma to convince hundreds of thousands that you're the brother of Jesus Christ)

Lots of aspects of Mussolini's final days are funny. Not least the bit who has spent 20 years putting his face on everything tries to disguise himself by wearing a hat.

Allegedly Mussolini's last words were "shoot me in the heart" to the partisan firing squad sent to execute him, and I have always thought that, under the circumstances, the funny thing to do would have been to instead shoot him right in the penis.

The article "plunder and tribute in the carolingian empire" by Rueter is a key text on the carolingians, and one of the reasons its so good is that it explains the shift to a tribute system as conquered territories being "invited to plunder themselves" which is just a banging way of explaining it.
