Today I received an invitation to review… my OWN PAPER!! Not very serious AoBPlant, I wonder what would have happened if I accepted. @aobp.bsky.social
Thrilled to share that my PhD student, Thomas Wibaux, successfully defended his thesis yesterday! His brilliant work on cacao architectural development will have a significant impact, especially for modeling. Proud of his dedication and excited to see what the future holds for him! 🌟
Your work is very impressive! Accurate 3D reconstruction is a major lock for developing good functional-structural plant models. I thought Gaussian splatting was only used for visualization, are you using it for your reconstructions? Or they’re based directly on the point cloud?
Totally agree with this! Deep one-on-one conversations with a colleague often spark and develop the best ideas. The ‘Yes, and’ attitude is so important—it opposes the instinct to say ‘no’ or ‘but,’ focusing instead on developing the idea, and letting creativity flow. We need more of this!
